Thoughts on cards being less valuable than ever?

@Shauwn
Fantastic post touching on everything I’ve at least alluded to numerous times. Thank you for bringing this to the forefront to show just how far SDS has gone to tank the market while increasing prices on packs with terrible returns. As a relatively new player to DD I loved 20 and 21. 22 was a big step back but still decent rewards. 23 was a massive step back in every regard save gameplay improvements over 22. So far 24 gameplay is decent but the market is on life support, all packs are overpriced, and the terrible technical issues and communication is next level awful. I stick with this game because I love baseball and my 6 year old son is getting into the game along with baseball in general so I’m helping him. Sadly if it wasn’t for my son I’d likely step away because the fall from grace the past couple years is staggering. In the end all these changes may benefit the online players but have severely damaged the offline player experience. In that regard 21 was amazing and 24 has been pathetic.

There are high-rated cards locked behind ludicrously overpriced packs and the grind for stubs and packs is not worth it. It's simple psychology -- dangle the shiny things that's "better" than what you have. So buy the stubs to buy the packs or the players. In response to this part of your post, I actually have been known to have a little bit of a gambling issue when it comes to buying coins, stubs, etc..
Those shiny high rated cards locked behind ludicrously overpriced packs make me laugh. It's like buying a 1 dollar lottery ticket hoping to win 2 dollars.
The only player really worth testing your luck on is for Cruz. If u bought 3 packs and hit 1, then u made 30k profit,, that's it.
The players in those packs aren't really worth the gambling risk, unless you're a streamer and u get paid for views. Ok then fine go crazy. Those guys will make their money back. As for everyone else, It's not even smart gambling. Now if those top players were actual top tier meta cards selling for 100k+ and will be in your lineup for at least a month, then I can see ppl testing their luck.

Thank u, I appreciate it. I stepped away from the forums for years bc I had a cpl different discord groups. My voice has been heard from hundreds of gamers over the years, but not so much on these forums in recent years.
SDS has chosen this new path hoping to generate more revenue, which I understand. However, crippling card values and putting high priced packs with subpar to a few meta options is actually hilarious. It's like they have no idea what's considered meta, competitive, and desirable.
Ppl are wondering why the market is down. It's down due to the low amount of stubs and xp you can earn unless u get lucky.
Without coins/stubs, cards will drop. Ppl will continue to undercut just to sell their card. With release, I made around 200k+ from grinding everything. Now that there's little to grind and earn, stub making is low. (Unless you are a trader)
As for the changes benefitting the online players, ehh it's yes and no. Most of us hit WS already. The rest are doing multiple BR runs to make stubs by going flawless.
Most good gamers play with the Buxton or Arenado boost. Most of the cards used are free cards that fit that particular meta, excluding a few.I play this game each yr bc I love baseball and enjoy playing online. I also enjoy earning stubs, hitting on expensive cards, and trying new competitive fun cards out.

@Shauwn i hadnt bought any packs all year just opened all the earned ones wich is normally enough but not with this years odds.. IM THINKING MY odds INCREASED EXTREMELY AFTER BUYING MY FIRST 15 BOX.. Ive been thanking the sDs\baseball gods for 4 days now that i wont have to spend any extra money this year

It’s pretty sad. You love to see the market start strong at least before it starts to dive later in the year. Frustrating.

You're either the luckiest pack puller, or your nose is sprouting roots by lying.
So out of 45 packs, you're saying you pulled 3 blue 90+ diamonds, and 7 diamonds in total?
I opened 5x the packs and like 25 ballin, 10 headliners and pulled 23 diamonds. Only 1 was blue. And that turned out to be 20k Mickey Mantle... smh
If u did pull 400k in diamonds from 45 packs, congrats! Don't buy anymore! It's only downhill from there, lol. -

@Shauwn whats your buxton boost lineup? im trying to find a good lineup.
Here's my current WS lineup:
C) 84 Posada: He's a 90 overall rn. I could go with Scary Gary here or Salas, but Posada is a switch hitter, and I hit well with him. I'll prob replace him when I get Napoli.
1B) 90 Jeimer Candelario: 1 of 2 NON Buxton boosted cards! If this card was 100k, I'd buy it in a heartbeat! Currently betting. 429 online with him!
Backups: 89 Votto, 84 Goldschmidt which are Buxton Boosted2B: Termarr Johnson: There are currently 0 natural 2B cards better in overall meta than Termarr. I'm hitting. 375 against righties with him, but. 125 against lefties. Keep that in mind. Lefty lefty is tough.
SS: 89 Dansby Swanson: I really love his Swing. He hits lefties so well for me.
He's a top 3 meta SS. The other two are 92 O'Neil Cruz and 91 Javier Baez.
I was hitting well with Baez, and he may be the best meta SS option. But I sold him and took the 70k at the time.3B: 84 Willie Castro: He's a 91 rn and is literally the best gold hitter in the history of this game! His fielding is average at best, but his hitting is great!
RF: 88 Buxton: I put him in RF due to SDS having no idea what they're doing. 70 reactions should not cause outfielders to take bad first steps like they're special needs little leaguers.
CF: Dylan Crews: He's a 96 rated card rn. And, he's by far the best free hitting card SDS has given us. If he was 100k, I'd buy him in a heartbeat!
LF: 91 Yelich: NOT a Buxton boost card! I'm trying him out. His fielding is why above average, speed average, and hitting pretty good. Other Buxton boost options include:
89 Stanton, 87 Austin Riley, 87 James Wood.DH: Adam Dunn: Literally a card I'd pay 50-75k for. He's a monster.
Other meta options not listed: Trout, Judge, Julio Rodriguez, 84 Luis Robert, 89 Tyler ONeil (I'll try him after Yelich. His speed and fielding are incredible) Adonis Garcia, Ethan Salas, Harry Ford, and Richie Sexson.

@Shauwn_PSN You're not wrong. They've done their absolute best to nerf the market and try forcing people into buying stubs. They've been doing it for years allegedly using bots that drive buy and sell bids closer together to keep profit margins to a minimum

@Shauwn ive bought like 2 more 15 packs since and only got 1 low diamond I sold a couple cards alittle cheaper than i should have so i think i wound up around 300k in profit... I know ecactly how you feel To start the year before this weekend ive had the same luck as you pretty much 0 diamonds in like 40-50BIAH packs and like 3-4 low diamonds in the other couple hundred show/headliner and other packs
