Do you point up on every at bat? Even in online games?

Or is there a strategy to use?

The directional stick is how you want the batter to swing - sky, ground, etc. Some batters you’ll want to push up, others down., etc. I haven’t read this anywhere, but I think it lowers either vision, contact, clutch, or a combo of all of those.

I just know pushing up + pull will hit a disproportionate amount of HRs.
I cant time pitches so I strike out 40% of the time online, but at least 1-2 of my 3-5 hits will be gone

I've always wondered how timing and directional compare to each other. When I play offline I leave on directional (so i dont have to switch for online and moments) but just normal swing every time with no direction because the spread of singles/XBH/HR is better

Little off topic but I’ve noticed the last couple years that directional is a lot less effective than it used to be. There are places in the strike zone now that are pretty much automatic outs.

In general if you hold up and in with a power hitter you’ll have success hitting home runs but the pitch needs to be down the middle or just slightly in from middle. Some swings, like Buxton, can get to low and in. Some swings, like Stanton, can get to up and in but there is no one size fits all approach for directional anymore. Lots more swing and location difficulty than there used to be. And that is ok, in my opinion.
