SOLUTION - How to not get any more freezes

To stop having freezes and freeze-offs, quit out of MLB The Show 24 entirely and restart it before each online match. It's a little annoying, but it will allow you to play without fear of freezing. This method has worked flawlessly for my friend and I. I haven't had a freeze in over a week thanks to this.

Don't know why it works, I just know it works and allows us to actually play Coop again.

That’s not it but another way of doing it is through party invites. It’s worked for two years every time

We've had freezes using party invites and in-game invites. Restarting the game before each match was the only thing that worked for us.
