What is with the “no online” people here?
-
I understand preferring to play offline. While I prefer online play, I TOTALLY understand why some people prefer offline play - No stress, No dealing with exploit players, ect…I get it…But when it comes to something like a program that just requires you to get a hit in BR or play a couple innings in H2H, What’s the big deal? You’re not being asked to make WS or go 12-0. It’s just a couple little things. Just get in & do what you gotta do then go back to offline. And yes, I understand “They said play how you want”. But cmon, Is it really that much to ask to get one hit in a BR game? I don’t get the outrage.
-
Agreed! There is a lot of fun to be had this year. Let’s play the game and have fun and stop looking for things to be bothered about. It is actually very well balanced for online and offline this year.
-
I am in that group, last year I did the 2 event games and 1 rs game to get those eggs, and this year am going to do it again. You are right it is not that big of a deal.( It is, but it isn't)

@PAinPA
Most players are cool about it. They know you need a hit or SB or just to get on base and if you extend them some common courtesy they usually will return the favor. Unless they just feel like crushing you. In that case just take the lumps and move on to the next one. Eventually you will get there and Yelich will be yours.

I’ve played less than 10 really annoying players in the last few years. They just don’t really exist, it’s all made up and over exaggerated. You think the one claiming “I got walked 7 straight times on rookie” aren’t going to be over the top with the one game they play online?
If someone’s dog got sick while they were playing ranked, there’s like 5 guys on here that would try to contact homeland security for answers. Im only half kidding, there are some that frequent this forum THAT KNOW they gathered in a discord chat and tried to contact the FBI over Judgeisthegoat

I dislike BR and Events because it seems I get matched up with players who either cheat or are so much better then me that it ruins my enjoyment.
Plus BR costs 1500 stubs to play. I'd rather play Ranked

@Jacky-Chan1
If you can get Boggs on base with your 1st entry it’s free. After that I understand not wanting to pay 1500 stubs just to get crushed. I’m not a fan of that either.

When I started gaming, there was no online until around 99 or so. I have nothing to prove against other humans and like to have fun playing.
And the most important aspect is I refuse to pitch from the batters POV. -
@TheGoaler you dont have to pitch from the batters point of view ive always used pitcher camera for everyrhing and I basicly always play ranked
-
The online component is garbage and easily the worst h2h sport title out there. Why are you surprised most people would want to avoid it? Until they get dedicated servers you’re gonna have people abusing the absurd lag comp in this game on their McDonalds WiFi and mobile hotspots. There’s a reason crappy internet is a thing people rely on in this game. Multiplayer is trash bro.

It's usually fine for me. Yesterday I started doing the event, not knowing it was 2 doubles. I got matched with someone that was way better than me. I think he might have even been a streamer. Total douche. Kept stealing even when I was down by seven. Finally realized I didn't want to be there when I beaned him in the top of the 3rd after stealing second, again. Didn't try events again.
I did do BR and ranked and they were both awesome. In ranked, got the steal in the first and he knew I didn't care soon after and made the game quicker because of it. In BR we both led with Boggs and pitched down the middle to him. On base, quick finish and done.
Don't like having to do online because of the cases like first. It seems to happen more than what happened the second two times. I'm not horrible, just hate the aggravation. Just happy it wasn't too bad this time.
-
@IrishFist412 If I had any inkling of playing online this forum erases them immediately. Just reading the way people interact on here makes me glad I never personally interact with the online users of the game.
-
It’s honestly not that bad and I am an offline player. Yesterday I played BR and both guys I played gave Boggs a free hit. I did the same, I spilt the games and they were both fine. Fun, just not easy but I’m not very good.
-
I haven't had any success matching up with someone else on Nintendo switch for ranked. I can't play with cross play on because it's too laggy. That's the only egg that I'm missing besides the jellybean one

I'm not bothered by the online requirements of the program even though I am not an online guy (I played one BR game and was No Hit). I probably won't finish the program, but that is more a reflection on the rewards being a bunch of players I don't care much about.
But lets remember this same argument when online players complain about needing to do offline content. It's not just a one sided complaint.
-
@IrishFist412 I’m guessing it affects people that like to grind on Rookie. I play AS or HoF so jumping in for a couple of hours is no biggie (except this year, I suck rn).
I’m guessing what bugs them is there’s nothing exclusive that online ppl couldn’t get, but online ppl have rewards that you need to pay for and no way to grind it if your exclusively offline.
It’s not like it’s an exclusive club you have to pay to join and is super elitist (other than stick skills).
-
Im a mostly offline player but not because i dislike online. Im one of those people who gets sidetracked. I like to be able to pause and eat a sandwich, watch tv, forget about playing for an hour and jump right back into the 3rd inning of my mini seasons game. I grind offline on lower difficulties so i can play more games before the xp cap but i have no problem jumping up to all star for challenges or online play.
I honestly believe that the people who make such a big deal about the small obstacles like get a hit in BR, really just dont wanna lose to another person. Its an ego thing.
-
@yankblan I may not completely understand but Mini Seasons and Nation of Baseball both have exclusive rewards that are not available online, right? There have also always been additional conquest maps that have awards attached that I assume will come later.
-
@fubar2k7 I totally understand that - completely man…All I was saying is if you don’t care about your H2H record and are just joining a game to get one hit in order to get a card you want then why not just suck it up for 10 minutes, get the card & then go back to playing offline modes. That’s all I was asking…To me it would be worth it, But I get it.
