Really the biggest issue is the fielding right now. If you remember 19 last year had the same issues early (Mostly with outfielders not locking in near the wall.)

It was fixed faster last year, but I'm ok with giving them a bit of a leash for not having it figured out yet with everything going on. But if we start getting towards the end of April and it's still the same, I prob won't be happy,

I can certainly understand giving leeway given the current situation, but doesn't it strike you as strange that the game has the same issues it did last year?

Some people might expect that a game released a year later would not have the exact same issues, because they were clearly identified in the previous year.

You know like, "ok guys we expect issues, but not the very SAME issues we had last year. Those we can thoroughly test for ahead of time since we already know about them..."

Well, they tinkered with fielding this year with the first step thing, so it doesn't shock me that something went wrong. Maybe that's me being too lenient, like I said, if it's still around towards the end of April, I'll be mad about it. Right now I'm just mildly annoyed.

I very rarely complain because despite its flaws MLB the Show is always a game I enjoy but fielding is horrible and whatever they did in last patch did not fix much if anything. This MLB player tourney is putting a horrible light on it. I realize some of the defensive stuff is people not putting their fielder in the correct spot but most are just bad animations. There are line drives where you can't even move your guy because the computer locks in an animation as soon as the ball is hit and the ball goes right by the fielder. I know these things will be fixed but it seems since this was a problem last year and the devs were getting the bad animations during the dev tourney that it would not be a problem by now.

Online play has been disappointing for the past three years. Not sure how that can be debated

Ok hitting is a joke, a just late okay homerun for Reggie Jackson opposite field in Fenway, but my good squared up with mike trout is an out caught at the base of the green monster. Fielding is hilarious, it’s just like hey here is the ball, bounce off the outfielders

Exactly bro ... It’s almost like SDS creates problems to then turnaround and fix them again.... Strange

The fact is rightnow the game has a lot of gameplay issues. I personaly have defended SDS on many occasions over the past few years. I will always be a fan of this game and will continue to support it. With that said I realy do hope they fix the pitching and fielding problems. And btw, this forum is meant for people to talk about the game. If people are frustrated this is where they are going to post about it. You always have the choice to not read what people post if it upsets you.

I haven’t had the OF fielding issues that most are complaining about so I can’t speak to that. I run an OF full of guys in secondary positions (diamond Grandy in LF, Rookie Mantle in CF and diamond CarGo in RF) and have only had one error (Mantle bobbled a grounder I tried to cut off in the gap-my fault there). So maybe that’s it? Lol

I’ve also made an ECI diving catch with JD Martinez in the OF in a Event game.

I guess I got the only copy of the game where the defense is fixed. Lol

I agree with the hitting as you stated, but fielding should have been fixed already, with the current situation I get it. You can not say fielding is a major problem. I do not complain much about the game. Every year the game has issues and they do fix things as the year goes on. We will never have a perfect game. When I have Rickey Henderson in CF for a routine fly ball waiting to catch it and the ball bounces right though his body and rolls to the fence that is an issue, I have played almost every baseball video game and never have I had this happen.

Are all these complaints online only? I don’t think we’ll ever get a smooth online game until everyone is on at least gigabit plans. The SDS engine is so geared to offline play and precision timing, with the latency of online play, they just won’t cut it. They’d need an entirely new engine. Think Unreal
