Daily XP cap?
-
Can you still progress in the minors even if i hit the daily cap (which is wild, i was j playing the game). Like for example can I get to the majors from AAA despite hitting the cap
-
What about the people that can’t play the game everyday. They will never be able to catch up if they can only grind 1-2 days a week. This game caters to people that are good and play everyday waking minute of their life

You should be fine. Your RTTS player does gain game play XP but nothing about their advancement is contingent on XP earned.
It should not hinder you at all if you hit the XP cap. It is a Diamond Dynasty issue.

Just wanted to add on...I hate the XP CAP as a guy who plays a lot on his w days off work and not much on the other days. This really hurt my ability to maximize my grind time.
-
The Daily XP Cap hit is truly awful. I understand their reasoning behind it, but if someone wants to spend their valuable time playing, then they should be rewarded. Some people only get a day or 2 where they can actually sit down and play. The casual players can't get the most out of their time and the die hards are going to be pushed away. So many rewards are locked behind XP creep. It's literally advertised as "Play any mode in MLB THE Show! Each game you play earns XP which progresses this program and unlocks new rewards." which is obviously false. Huge swing and a miss by SDS.
-
@aaronjw76 YES! Why complete other challenges or modes and waste the XP that could be gained the next day?!
We should be able to play & earn XP whenever WE want to play.
-
I do not play every day and still like the cap, because it is an important way to keep the power creep under control. Otherwise we would run into tons of Napolis etc. …
I still do not get the outrage -
@YOSHI24 Why should I pay $100 for a game that tells me how much Im allowed to play to earn rewards.. in a reward based game mode? I could care less if someone genuinely wanted to spend all their time grinding to get whatever they want. Good for them, but if I have a day or two during the week to play I shouldn't be told I can't progress. This is a lazy solution to whatever problems they're trying to fix. Fix the reward system and progression path, don't cap a paying customer on what they can do when were literally told "Play the game the earn XP!" to progress. Lazy and no creativity.

Imagine playing an RPG game that has a xp cap after a few hours of grinding.
Then the company/community literally tells you to focus on having fun Instead of progressing by grinding xp.Now, you're level 8 in the rpg, and the first dungeon requirement is level 10. The only thing you can do now is kill bunnies without earning anymore xp.. Who would waste their time?
Point is, when the ability to progress through the main xp path is capped, I will not play the game for the day. There's zero point grinding without earning xp.
Of course u still can knock out TA, Conquest, do br runs, events, and play ranked, but why would you want to grind those modes for hours if your xp is already capped.IT MAKES ZERO LOGICAL SENSE AS A GAMER, PERIOD!
-
Sorry but XP caps are dumb in any game. Why keep playing if you’re not earning XP in a game that rewards earning XP? I understand why they want to slow things down, but people sometimes have to binge a game when they have time. We aren’t all content creators that play all day long to unlock cards. It’s a childish punishment.
-
Even as a content creator the cap is a waste of my time. Go live hit the cap then switch games I loose almost 30 percent of my viewers. Also im not a big name streamer I play the games to have fun with my friends and community.
-
@DaveJohnson1 Exactly, it puts people who are already at a disadvantage even more at a disadvantage.
-
I've been playing everyday. Today I played 15 Conquest games and 2 vs CPU 9 inning games I hit the cap for the first time since launch, I probably earned about 35-40k XP today, that's not alot, I can play Saturday and Sundays unlimited, but only 2-3 hours during the week.
-
Encouraging people to NOT play your game does not seem like a winning strategy. Just sayin'...

What is your total inception to date xp?

To be honest I bet SDS underestimated the amount of people who care about that one exp track above all else.
I'm more motivated by pxp and TA progress than the xp one, which I just assume will fill naturally as I playThe big question that needs to be answered is what happens if someone doesnt play for a week. Is their cap cumulative? Everyone assumes its daily but I am skeptical that its that simple given people seem to have widely different experiences with it
I'm also wondering if perhaps there isn't some weird bug with it, because everyone seems to have a different experience. They have a major and head scratching bug with the CPU pitching, so anything is possible.
Honestly if they are worried about grinding, just nerf exp in created stadiums and places like Shield Woods and add a per game cap to stop the nonsensical grinding in 70 run games.

Not to give SDS any ideas, but lots of RPGs actually do this. Usually its so they can sell you extra progression chance.
But your comparison pretty disingenuous anyway, the 'main xp path' is one of many xp paths and has little impact on your overall power. Its essentially three big pieces of gear, when you have ~13 or so other equally important pieces of gear. Absolutely nothing gameplay wise is gated behind it
Its likely there will be other 99s before people reach those cards, maybe youll find better gear first. And if you play online skill > cards, so you could be playing to get better for the real progress.
To be clear, if this is impacting more than the top 2% or so of the playerbase/doesnt have some sort of cumulative mechanic I am against it, but people are overblowing the issue by a ridiculous amount and making it to be some affront to humanity. The CPU pitching bug is worse in my opinion (it certainly impacts more people), and its not like you are a switch player, they can't even work on TA or pxp...or anything in DD

@YOSHI24
The "outrage' comes from the fact that a lot of their work schedules prevent them from playing this game every day. Therefore, they want to maximize their time gaining XP rewards on their day(s) off.For example, instead of getting to play 4 hours for 7 days a week, they may only get to play 8 hours a day twice a week or so.
One possible solution may be to have a weekly XP cap, instead of a daily cap. Therefore, you allow users to earn their reward XP around their own weekly work schedule, and still have a power creep.

@xElRojo44x
100% this. I can play far more on weekends than weekdays due to work and family obligations. A weekly cap would be much more digestible. As it stands now it caters to those that can play roughly the same amount on a daily basis. I’m just guessing that the vast majority of the player base works or has school during the week so it would be a very welcome change moving to a weekly cap. Not all of us are streamers, content creators, retired, or can simply play the game while on the clock at or desk jobs.
-
@Teak2112 It is 1000% daily. Otherwise, you would see people with XP cooldown timers with days remaining. The highest I think I've seen is 10 hours. And the XP track is all there is. The programs were done during early access. TA was finished days ago. And I've played so little I've not even hit the XP cap yet. I get to collect innings in Ranked (stats have been done) and get XP. That's it. I couldn't care less about PXP on cards that I won't be using in three weeks anyway. And the "wildly" different experiences is due to what else they were doing. It's only gameplay XP. Depends on what other XP you acquire during the time period as to how much XP you get before you hit the cap.
