Why SDS Loves Seasons

@baseball229056 There is a difference between trying to make a profit and taking advantage of your customers when you have a monopoly on baseball games. They would make a profit without seasons.
And there is an incredible amount of free content. And thousands of “No Money Spent” players every year. So I’m still not sure why you have a problem with a company making money off of their product.

@Vipersneak Unless you have access to their P and L how would you know how profitable they are? If you do have access to their numbers, please post. It's possible Sony is putting pressure on them to raise revenue or increase profitability.

To me this theory from OP doesn't make much sense. With the setup of '23's content it was the first time since I started DD that I didn't spend any money on the game. There were so many easily attainable good cards that it was the first time I didn't feel like buying stubs was even necessary.

You had me at P&L...

Yeah this theory doesn't land, beyond the digital deluxe edition I didn't spend a dime extra on this game. That was the first time ever, normally I spend close to an extra 200 to 300 on stubs over the course of the year.

@Blind_Bleeder Your post is amusing. So because you don't buy stubs then no one does? lol Obviously, when no one has cards, those that buy stubs (especially whales) are going to buy most of their stubs at that time. Or, this year once again, at each of those times.
-
The only thing amusing about this thread is your refusal to embrace reality. Sure, there are people out there who will purchase their teams day one but for the remaining 99% of us we’re going to play the game and acquire our teams…just like you will, just like I will. Maybe, just, maybe the goal is to get people to play the game and enjoy the ride?
As for being frustrated regarding not being able to assemble an all time Cubs team in a short time frame just imagine the frustration the franchise has in reality! They’ve been around since 1876 and still can’t put a decent team together lol
-
I didn't bother buying stubs cuz I got so many for free. sitting at 500k
-
I didn’t buy stubs and literally have everything in the game minus a few cards. Don’t be mad others chose to buy stubs and you don’t
-
I've got almost all the cards also, would be closer if I did more of the topps now and monthly programs but I have every card I want and sitting on 1,000,000 that I should have spent, lol.

@LIONED-33 whos mad?

I don't care if people buy stubs or not. It's their money, not mine. All I'm saying is that there is no need to buy them because there is plenty to be had by either earning them through playing or obtaining them by casual flipping.
Now, back to working on my erotic fiction book I'm revising for the 4th time...an author's work is never done (much like a spreadsheet creator...always something to improve). I've got to get as much done as possible before early access!!!!

@YOSHI24 because he can use his brain lmfao. It’s the same reason rewards are unsellable. The old saying I wish I was a stupid as you certainly applies here but trust me I don’t.

@Blind_Bleeder actually that what you said at all. You just wanted to say you were NMS one last time lulz
