Nothing on new legends..

I really hope Beltre isn’t the best we’re getting.
Where did you see Beltre mentioned?
-
I'm not a fan of not having more info then we do at this point, no other game coming out would get away with hiding details until the day of launch and still beg for preorders as hard as we see it now. If you want excitement around the game and want to expand to more then just the hardcore fans (which are leaving over the past couple of games very quickly) you gotta be better about giving us reason to be excited WEEKS! if not a month and a half out. Nothing shared as of today matters at all to most of the playerbase sadly.
-
I don’t think we will have big names like we’ve had in the past
-
I just did a little quick digging on YouTube and looked up the dates previous Legends trailers dropped in comparison to the release date (Early Access) of the game itself.
The Show 23 - 3/20 - EA Release: 3/24
The Show 22 - 3/28 - EA Release: 4/1
The Show 21 - 3/31 - EA Release: 4/16So in the last couple of years, the Legends trailer didn't come out until just a few days before the game launched which means we should hopefully get one early next week. They seem to use it now as a last-minute selling tactic to get some late impulse purchases especially if they drop even just one huge name like A-Rod.
-
That tactic worked beautifully on me last year with McGwire lol
-
Nope, dont know exactly what new legends or nothing about the other preorder bonus pack which makes it hard to determine which to order by the deadline. I'm hoping more or so n e deatail today sometime.
-
I'd pay more for Manny Ramirez
-
@x814xmafia He was in one of the videos early on.
-
@SakAttack87 I think they’ve just done a better job of keeping it from leaking out.
-
There have been some leaks/ hints at Beltre and Palmiero. They have announced Bernie Williams, Andy Pettitte, and Paul O’Neil. Josh Gibson and Buck Leonard are solid adds. I really think we will get Oscar Charleston and Cool Papa Bell. I think there is a chance that we get Manny and ARod.
I’m losing hope on the True missing legends the likes of Ted Williams, Ty Cobb, Pete Rose, Barry Bonds, Joe DiMaggio and Roger Clemens. I still don’t see them. I think those are the BIGGEST Names. I can dream I guess.
-
@NWOStunna Yes, but none of those guys are on the same level as Sosa, McGwire and Jeter in my opinion. Beltre maybe. I think we need at least 2-3 big time names like the list you have. I’d add Ichiro to that list. Nomo and Matsui to a lesser extent. I think they’ll wait on Cool Papa Bell until next year. To me, he’s the most exciting potential and they can’t put them all out at once.
-
I agree 100%. The ones I mentioned are TRUE HEADLINERS/ Elite options. I think Ichiro belongs on that list.
We are supposed to get six more negro league legends this year and several next year. Maybe Charleston and Bell both come next year to headline that final class. There are some really exciting Negro League legends left. Pretty excited for them.
-
Some other guys I’d like to see:
Jim Abbot with a storyline. Rod Beck, Kevin Brown, Ken Caminiti, Tony Phillips, Deion Sanders, David Cone, Nomar Garciappara adjusting his gloves, David Wells, Terry Pendleton, Benito Santiago, Lance Berkman, Mark Texiera, Papelbon, Hanley Ramirez, Brian Giles, Miguel Tejada, Barry Zito, Andruw Jones, Speaker, Fisk, Bill Dickey, Dave Winfield… there’s lots of mid tier guys that would be great.
Less big stars: Ted Williams, Bo Jackson, Kofax, DiMaggio, Rose, Maris, bring back guys like Yogi and Cobb…
-
Bo Jackson is a headliner. Koufax and Drysdale are right there. There are a ton of Dodger and Yankee legends still not in the game.
The list of others is fun. Jose Canseco 40/40 card would be sweet.

You keep saying Rose, but it will never happen,he is banned from baseball for life.

There has always been that one major HEADLINER that they release every year who usually gets teased at the very end of the trailer.
MLB 18: Ruth
MLB 19: Mays
MLB 20: Mantle
MLB 21: Pedro
MLB 22: Randy Johnson
MLB 23: McGwire/SosaI don't expect this year to be any different it's just a matter of who it will be and my money is on A-Rod. Even for people who are disgruntled with the current state of the game and on the fence about 24, he is one of those names that will tip the scales in favor of SDS.

As much as it pains me I’m gonna go on a limb and say Jeter was probably the headliner in MLB23.

Jeter was definitely the headliner, but was a special case because he was tied into being an actual cover athlete. His reveal came on The Tonight Show which says everything.
McGwire/Sosa were kept under wraps very well right up until the days before the game released.
-
With them adding the Kingdome this year, that could hint at A-Rod. It would also be hard to do a Jeter storyline with him.
-
@fenderbendr Why would a Jeter storyline be hard to do without A Rod? Storylines is about the moments of an individual player, not the whole team. im sure they could gloss over some stuff without having to mention A Rod at all.
Of course, i wouldnt mind A Rod in the game...but im hoping the Kingdome has more to do with announcing Ichiro.
