MLB THE SHOW 24 UNVEILS ROAD TO THE SHOW: WOMEN PAVE THEIR WAY
I, for one, have no problem with this and actually think it is great that female baseball fans can create themselves in RTTS.
I don't believe for a second, like many seem to believe on reddit, that the inclusion of this feature is the reason that other updates desired by the community were not addressed.
My biggest disappointment with the new announcement is that it means that we are probably getting an hour long Feature Premiere strictly about it on Thursday.

Thinking (hoping?) that the Feature Premiere is about all of RTTS, with the Women portion being merely a spotlighted topic.

I'm not going to hold my breath for that. They turned the Jeter Storyline, which is essentially an enhanced version of Storylines from MLB 19, into an hour long premiere.

There was a comment on Facebook that voiced my thoughts perfectly. The guy said he is all for this and believes it is a cool feature, but at the same time, we want actual changes to RTTS and Franchise, not just new avatar options with some new crummy text choice cutscenes. I really hope SDS comes through with some real changes beyond just the addition of females to the same old RTTS.

I don’t have a problem with it either, but I don’t care about this change at all. It’s not something I’m going to play. So far there are less improvements than most years. Just more woke features. Are we actually going to get improvements to the mode?

That's cause it's not true, but no-lifes need a scapegoat and it's easier to blame women over accepting SDS not caring/having the ability to provide further upgrades

That's cause it's not true, but no-lifes need a scapegoat and it's easier to blame women over accepting SDS not caring/having the ability to provide further upgrades
I do still believe that SDS cares. I also believe that they probably have more rules and constraints put on them by Sony and MLB Than we could imagine. Rules and Constraints that limit their ability to do whatever they want.

The first 2 feature premieres were probably 1 feature premiere done as 2 to limit it from being 3 hours long. If this was going to be the feature premiere you wouldn’t know about it now.

I’ve played the PS4 one and besides the obvious of the fluttering birds in the outfield. The game doesn’t play the same. So I’m gonna say there very well may be 2 versions now.

Not even close. Stadium creator is not on ps4, and the game is smoother -- but it's basically the same thing with a shinier coat of paint. 2K has much more differentiation.

I said they’re probably not the same because they don’t play the same. You mentioned a feature not in the PS4 and said it’s the same but with a shinier coat of paint. You just mentioned another feature one game has the other doesn’t. That is an entire feature not a shiny coat of paint.

Expect bigger changes next year when they go next gen only, more for RTTS and hopefully franchise.Been calling for women to be added to the game for years.

Why does it matter anyways? It’s just for RTTS and like a tiny fraction that’ll use a low rated player in DD. So what if female players won’t play in the a game anytime soon. Neither will you and last I checked Babe Ruth isn’t stepping on the field in 2024 either.

Totally not labour-unintensive to do this, although just like the face scanning it might have little value to existing players so may not seem like the mode has changed.
But it’s a great idea that expands the market for the game.

I'm going to hold my full opinion until later. From what we've seen so far, it looks to me like, the new additions are only for the addition of women. The addition of women, cool. New scenes and interviews and more immersion into the development of your player, awesome. However, it seems as though you can't have one without the other. I hope I'm wrong.
I do want to add that I usually prefer to play as female characters. Female Eivor and Kassandra in AC or my hot chick pirate in Skull & Bones. So I will use this. I tend to make them look as close to my wife (who passed away) as possible and plan to do that here. Plus my last name will still look awesome on the back of an Angel's Jersey.

Female Eivor and Kassandra in AC
Kassandra was hands-down the better of the two options in that game. I've played through the game with each option.
I also played female Eivor but have not played as the male Eivor so I have no comparison there.
