Chances are that these 'bigger' companies that have different versions of the game for next gen and old gen users also have the manpower to develop these games.

Let's assume that you need two different teams to work on the game. One for each gen console.

SDS probably thinks that it's not financially beneficial for them to pay another team for the extra players that would buy the next gen version of the game. Also take into affect that a majority of the people that will buy the next gen version are already buying the game as it is.

That's fine, in that case you just make a choice and stick with it. Which would mean you develop for CURRENT gen and not last gen for an 11 year old console. Not doing so is also a choice. A lazy one. Because they can just keep riding the same old game we've had for years and years and hide behind the fact that it has to run on PS4 as well. Convenient isn't it?

The point @xElRojo44x made was that 80% of their customers use previous generation consoles. If they abandon those customers they likely won’t make enough money to actually exist as a company. It’s baseball. It looks fine the way it is. It’s a lot easier to do basketball than baseball. They have a very basic arena and half the players out on the court for both teams than 1 team has to field.

Yes, and I thought my point was pretty obvious. Guess not.

Regardless, I have stressed my frustration with SDS not offering us a current gen version several times on this forum. I've played MLBTS on the PS5 since '22 and wish, as much as anyone, that we had an up to date video game to enjoy.

I agree. And just to show that the argument about budget and all that is not always the case, Rockstar has all the budget in the world and yet they can't be bothered by making a Red Dead Redemption 2 patch that enables 4K/60hz for current gen, despite a huge customer base who have been begging for it for years.

I really don't know why you guys set yourselves up for disappointment by expecting such drastic and radical graphics improvements.
Do you want graphics so graphic, that will let you see if a batter let's out a fart into the poor catchers face, even if it's a silent one? 🤔
Do you want to see managers spitting sunflower seeds onto the dugout floor?
Do you want to hear the splash of bird [censored] splashing a dugout ceiling?
If we get the same graphics, I'm good.

I saw hair flapping around for a split second on Vlad Jr and Hader right before the Negro League stream last week. That must mean something.

Ummm - yes. I'm assuming this is the Ultra Digital Deluxe version. I would pay $199 for this.

And... This is EXACTLY what I'm expecting in Next-Gen.

Man, if you guys can find the audio of Stuttering John interviewing the late Ted Williams. He asked Ted if he ever farted in the catchers face. His reaction is priceless. This was when Howard Stern was really funny, on free radio!
