    I am not sure if I am stating the obvious but the light bulb went off in this old man's head today. I think the reason why seasons were started this year is to get the game ready and players for the "battle passes" or whatever you want to call them that may be coming to the game. I am not sure if this will be in '24 or '25 but there has been some scuttlebutt about SDS implementing such a program. Any thoughts?

    The game barely changes from year to year. If we could avoid buying the new one for $90 or whatever, and just pay for season passes with roster updates, that would make sense, assuming the prices are reasonable.

    @halfbutt This is more of a pay to advance sort of pass, to get extra rewards and skip along the PXP program, this would be a supplement to the game after the initial purchase, this would be more of use to people that did not want to grind and just buy the instant gratification of getting to what they want faster. IMO of course, I have no idea really, just seems a reason to me the seasons were established this year towards bigger picture and revenue maker.

    @MrDeweyCoXX
    You could be right.
    I was more thinking of seasons in Destiny 2.

    Hasn't this game essentially had battle passes for years now? This year they were Seasons. Last year I think they were Innings. They have been refreshing content throughout the year with new rewards for a long tom

    Worst idea, other than Created Stadiums, they could implement.

    Unless the cards in the Reward Path were unsellable; it would wreck havoc on the market.

    All someone would need to do is wait until PS cards won't on sale and but a bunch of them.

    If you can't grind for the cards, in the time the program is available, then that's on you.

    If you dont know how to budget your time; then you need to decide which rewards are wortn the tome you have to play.

    @MrDeweyCoXX_PSN That won’t work for people who play franchise and RTTS. They need the real life schedule. Unless they can somehow import that into the game. Sports games come out annually with their real life sport for a reason. They aren’t just a fantasy sport. They also have a real sport with a real schedule fans like to play out.

    I dunno. Personally, I’m enjoying the show WAY more this year as an off-season pastime.

    If they do continue with new versions of the game every spring, that makes sense, but just make it a DLC with the appropriate roster updates.

    There is zero need to make a new game every year other than profit. The game has been largely the same for like 8 years.
