American League Showdown
-
I have played this game for years, have even completed the "Extreme Showdown Challenge". This "American League Showdown" with Felix Bautista is absolutely impossible. The veteran difficulty they say it is can not be accurate. I have tried to less than 15 times to beat this Showdown. Lose to Bautista. Every. Single. Time. The tunnel of all 3 of his pitches are almost identical and "Good Contact" with Diamond level hitters act like you hit it with a pool noodle. Whatever they did to the CPU this year is absolutely trash. This type of stuff makes me turn the game off for months. I'm done with it.

I hope you get it. I am a center swinging, offline only player who rarely plays above veteran difficulty and I think I did it on the first try, no more than two tries for that showdown.
Not sure why you are having trouble unless it is just bad luck.

I also did it on my first shot and usually have trouble with Bautista. My only suggestion would be practice hitting against Bautista. I realize it won’t be that version of him but if you can time his windup maybe it’ll help and his stuff is about the same.

I lost once to Bautista, then beat it. His Splitter just disappears, man! Otherworldly stuff!

I agree with you - I’ve often waited for the thing to pop out somewhere behind the backstop after it tunneled under the earth for 20 feet or so.
My advice to the OP would be if you catch yourself pulling down on the stick with your left thumb make sure and tell your right thumb to shut off lol which is much easier said than done I realize but that’s the way I was able to do it. After he walks a couple he’ll start feeding you the delicious pumpkins

I felt the OPs pain. Went into facing Bautista with a lineup of lefties except for Capt Roberts and '23 Finest Witt. Had Retro Aprichio, '23 Altuve and '23 Finest Trout on the bench for speed. Didn't get a hit until I had 10 outs left. Then got back to back homeruns with Retro Calhoun and '23 Devers.
Then got down to 4 out and got a double with Retro Thome. Subbed in Aprichio and stole third. Then Captain Roberts hit a blooper over second base and Aprichio made it in for the win.
Just go in with lefty bats and speed on the beach.
I also only use Losing in the 7th perks. I also use directional in any type of Showdown/Moment.
It can be done. I used to fail Showdowns all the time.
