Should RTTS be scrapped for MLB 24?
-
Given how RTTS have been stale for the past two years and no clear indications of any improvements for the foreseeable future, should SDS just pull the plug on RTTS and scrap it for good? I’ve been playing this mode since MLB 14 and while they have improved it on every release until MLB 21, this mode has seen better days. Since they are focusing on Diamond Dynasty (which I admit is what drawing players in more than RTTS), why not scrap RTTS so they can focus on improving Diamond Dynasty and not worry about maintaining RTTS as it is? Go ahead and give me your best shots, but maybe it is time to move on from RTTS?

Never going to happen. It's still way to popular of a mode and now that they have figured out how to monetize it (equipment and perk purchases) they won't get rid of it.

And in that case, the series is already like Madden…

Sadly, that has been slowly happening for a couple of years now. Franchise mode untouched in years, RTTS only touched to force people into DD so they can wring every penny from them that they can.
I know there are tons of people who claim they are NMS, but the fact that they make more money on microtransactions than game sales tells a different story.
Unfortunately, it's only going to get worse every year until people stop buying it. Look how broken this years game is, and how have done as little as possible to fix it. They got their money and now are basically giving their customers the finger as a reward.

Why would we get rid of a staple of the game, imagine you don’t have any online services. I would like to have it to because of the meme characters you could make to.
-
The problem is that they integrated RTTS with building your CAP. This should have never happened and they should still be two separate functions of the game.
-
Nope , I like my rtts character in dd . If you don't then dont
-
No, they will eventually get rid of it. The only change made in years from what I see is to make it tied to DD. If the greedy devs don't see enough cash influx via microtransactions they will keep tweaking it to make it worse until enough people stop playing. Then they can cry "nobody uses this mode any more and DD is SUPER popular".
-
They should scrap DD and just put all efforts into Frachise. If DD casual newbs want to play arcade baseball they can go play Super Mega Baseball or RBI Baseball.

They make too much money on the mode. If anything goes it should be RTTS and incorporate that into franchise.

You can still CAP in franchise, and still play with just that player by locking on him. The new complaint is they can't go to 125 because 99s across the board isn't enough, I guess.

Don’t equipment boosts push you past 99. I don’t make one let alone use one so I wouldn’t know.

Not sure where you are coming from with this... the only issue with RTTS and Franchise is that Diamond Dynasty now dominates a lot of the player bases time... I love RTTS and it feels like they are still building it out... I think the issue that I've noticed from some players that play RTTS is that they want to immediately play in the Majors... me personally I've never had an issue with RTTS because I understand what it is supposed to be unlike with NBA and NFL where rookie professionals (for the most part) start as a member of the top level pro team... just me speaking I'd like to see RTTS start you out in A-ball or dare I say Rookie ball... but that's just me.

@xerowhiz there would no point in buying the game if they did something stupid like that
-
No. They need to give it a pretty significant overhaul, but because they only care about microtransactions they will focus ONLY on DD.

the game fuckin sucks im so happy to get it on gamepass this is [censored] is junk and made for nerds like you LOL

Yet you’ll get it and play it. I have access to thousands of free games and don’t play them if I deem them to suck. Get a life.

I kind of wish they would scrap it for one or two years. Maybe that most too and just leave this game as is with massive patches or updates. Imagine if they could make the game from first person view with live video. You play the game as it is on the console but post game before game. Everything is done on video back of the '90s. Some games were video with different options of shoes for your actions in the game. You could pick and choose what to do in a scenarios. Say if you player gets hurt after the game you could choose to play through the injury. Go on the DL whatnot but also have a video now. Going to the trainer getting seen. Make it a lot more real, not just playing a game but really make you feel like it's first person. Same thing travel. Same thing with training and off season. Building your player up and also you know player interactions. You could have live video interactions with teammates but heads with teammates make friendships. You know, I really think if they could do it from the late 90s or some games had video ability to play out different roles. This might be a massive massive overhaul. And something that could become

I prefer the older Point Distribution system to increase attributes to the new system they adopted a few years ago. As an RPG fan it made RTTS seem like an RPG Sports game...this system with the plus and minuses, and having to choose which attribute to "Work Out" and having no clue how much progress is being made towards bettering your player other than a bar got boring. I did like the introduction of increasing your teammate fondness levels and opponent rivalry levels.

I just saw this. I apologize. Players use their own equipment in franchise. I think you can change bats and socks without the stat boost. Even without that there are only around 10 stats in DD, pitching and position, that can be boosted to 125.
