So I play primarily on Xbox but due to my back injury I am forced to limit my time sitting in front of the TV. Since there is a switch version, I may want to play on the switch.

My question is can I continue my progress on switch that I obtained on the Xbox series x or do I have to start over?

I want to play from my bed when my back starts to bother me.

There is a way. I remember someone describing how to do this in another thread. If you use the search icon you should be able to find it. I’m getting the PlayStation Portal for the same reason. To give my back a break. Plus, I can sneak in a game while my girlfriend uses the TV. 😉

Yes you can. You will need to link your NIN account to your XBox account. I’ll find the thread that details how to do that and paste a link here for you.

I have the OLED version and like it a lot. The game is not as smooth and there are some details missing (like on the XB1 and PS4), but it works great when I travel or the boss wants me in the same room with her (old person deal, I guess).

In addition, I have the controller (Switch Pro) which is easier for me because of my large arthritic clunky hands.

Another nice thing with the Switch is it will connect to multiple Bluetooth items at once, so I can slip in my earbuds and use the controller at the same time.

If the Portal is better than the Switch, that may be a better solution. Especially if you don’t need to buy a version of the game for it.

I was about to buy a Switch until the Portal was announced. I’m basically buying the Portal to play this game away from my TV and when the TV is in use by my significant other and or her son.

I just read about the Portal and I'm not sure. I imagine the increased lag of having it go through the PS5 will be noticeable (especially if on a wifi somewhere else other than the same one the PS5 is on). It's resolution is better than the Switch which is nice even though it's LCD (like the lower versions of the Switch) rather than OLED. It isn't a console like the Switch, only a streaming device with controllers. It's less expensive than the Switch, which is a plus - especially considering that buying another version of the game isn't necessary (since it will be playing the game from the PS5).

Please give a full rundown on how it plays after you get it.

I’ll come on and give a review. I would use the PS Vita to play my PS4 and the connection was decent so I figure it’ll be much better since I have much better internet now and much better hardware in the PS5 and Portal.
