Wow. That Cubs v Braves was incredible last night. Acuña got his 40/70 and showed why he’s the true MVP of 2023 with his incredibly clutch performance.
I still would rather see the Cubs make it than the Marlins but that’s not for me to decide. I love this stuff.

PS Lindor hit 30/30 club last night and Senga notched his 200th K….not too shabby for a rookie huh lol!

Also of note Houston/Toronto could still be eliminated before the playoffs, highly unlikely but i've seen stranger things happen.
If Toronto survives they may need to play Tampa Bay at most 8 times in a row, 3 games to close out the season and then a best of 5 series.... crazy
Edit... my bad wild card is only a 3 game series so 6 times not 8. Sorry about that.

Indeed! Heck I even heard wild a scenario tonight where the Mariners could still clinch their division haha it’s still up in the air. Texas sure can score runs but I believe they’ll crash and burn VERY early with that completely nonexistent bullpen I mean they are atrocious! I’d like to see the Ms make it I truly would but I’d rather have the Cubs in the playoffs as the Marlins as well.

3 games to go, hang on this is where the fun starts lol. This may sound weird but i would be happy if the Cubs miss the playoffs this year, it's less stressful when your team is out and i don't want to be let down if say they somehow beat the Brewers just to lose to the Braves/Dodgers. Next year though watch out, these young Cubs have had a taste of what fall baseball could be like.

Right you are, my bad i jumped the gun there, i was probably thinking of the division series sorry about that. So they would only have to face Tampa a totaly of 6 times if that goes the distance.

It’s so exciting, ain’t it Sam my friend! I mean talk about scheduling wizardry! It’s going to make for such a weekend that I’m playing hookie from work today just to start my 3 day weekend of baseball ambrosia off properly! Hey all I just noticed that the MLB free game of the day is the Rangers v Seattle set for 10pm approx and let’s not forget about Friday Night Baseball on the Apple+ app if you have that also….I’ve not seen which games they’re covering (it’s usually 2 games) but with sooo many incredibly important games going on tonight (and the weekend!) I believe they would actually have to TRY to pick something crappy…hey sorta like what SDS has been pulling with these S4 land mines they’re placing for us all to step on/in

Tonight was an incredible night of baseball indeed. Just incredible. Saturday might have the remaining five teams to clinch. What a finish this is going to be and we cannot forget the tiebreakers.
We are at two days left to go in a 162 game season with 5….FIVE postseason spots STILL yet to be decided after 160 games! I absolutely cannot believe the Reds have managed to hang on and still could get in!
That crazy game that the Mets and Marlins had that was suspended in the 9th inning might even have to be finished still yet to decide the final spot hahaha this is just epic I love this stuff -

That thrashing the Reds gave to the Cardinals was pretty incredible but what impressed me the most was how the fans stayed for the whole debacle. It’s well known in baseball that the Cardinal fans are a whole cut above your average fan but seeing was believing last night.…and they were well rewarded for their enthusiasm when Wainwright got the nod to pinch hit!
I’ve never seen so many people watching their home team getting beat by double digits runs that were collectively SO happy when Waino came strutting from the dugout with that bat and smiling like the Cheshire Cat! What’s NOT to love about that!?

Time to get my anxiety medication filled. Dodgers haven’t had a cumulative team ERA above 4 since 2010. A season in which they went 80-82.

So the Jays lose and must cheer for Texas (that must be a weird feeling) however with a Mariners win they would be tied with the Jays and 1 game back of the Rangers, Astros could be tied for first tonight.
