I was lead to believe power rating was more than just based on homeruns but if you look at Freddie Freeman and Matt Olson live series cards you would assume the ratings are based on just homeruns per at bat. Freeman vs RHP power is 57 and Olson vs LHP power is 77. Freeman is slugging .539 vs RHP and Olson is slugging .540 vs LHP in 2023 but Olson has a better homerun rate than Freeman against LHP. Freeman has 11 homeruns in 351 at bats and Olson 9 in 124 at bats. To me this indicates the rating is based on homeruns so why do so many players who never hit them have such high ratings?

It's based on iso pwr which the equation for that is : slg pct- avg.
so basically it's just counting doubles triples and homers.

Gotcha. So low batting average but high slugging means higher power rating but lower contact rating. That makes sense. That doesn’t explain how they manage to juice up other players cards other than they’re fake and should admit they’re fake. Right?
