Ballplayer used as 2 way in DD like Ohtani??
-
I know there was a glitch earlier in the year with the attributes being doubled and eventually, SDS Patched it. I have a 2 way ballplayer and before the glitch was patched I would be able to put him in the rotation and at DH. Are we still able to do that and if so can someone tell me how because it seems like I can't do it anymore. I also created another player but that shouldn't affect if we wanted to put our 2 way ballplayer back on our squad as both a DH and a starter or Reliever. Would like any information on this please

Just used POTM ohtani as pitcher and then he hit as well. He can only be selected as the starting pitcher if you choose some one else he will not be in the bullpen

There still is a way to pitch him and hit with him despite him not starting. I’m unsure if you already know this or not but I thought I’d roll the dice just in case that’s what you’re after.
I’ve explained it before in some other posts I’ve made but wouldn’t have a clue how to reference it here. I’ll explain how if you’d like but it will cost you your current DH but you’ll never miss them in theory because Shohei is as good or better than about anyone you sub him for

Yea sure I'm cool for any method really. I do have him in as DH right now so he can pitch and hit

Ok here’s one scenario where he’s not in the lineup at all (I’ve done this with Donaldson Hilton Smith and a few more): While your team is in the field, go to substitution screen and sub your LF for your DH…doing this will now cause your pitcher to have to hit. Now that your pitcher is in the active lineup, you take shohei and swap him for the pitcher. Remember the starting pitcher has to face a minimum of 3 batters so this can’t be done until then but after that you can swap him around all you want. What I do is, if he gets worn out on the bump, I pop him into LF before I call in the new pitcher. Try it with Donaldson and Hilton Smith too.
There are about 6 different permeations of this technique that I have successfully used but typing it all out has a real tendency to read like an Abbott & Costello bit, as @arvcpa_MLBTS so brilliantly pointed out the last time I tried lol
(at least I think it was him, and it was terribly funny…and true!)

Ok I'll have to give this a try offline. I def wanna get Donaldson in on Offense but currently can't if he is listed as a pitcher so this might work

Oh yes. You can have them both in the lineup and swap back and forth with one in the field and one on the mound even but I’ve noticed in the few times where I’ve pitched them more than once each in the same game that their stats drop pretty fast for pitching but they can still crush the ball.

If you search posts made by with the last couple of weeks and use the words shohei and Donaldson and you’ll find a couple of other scenarios. I’ve had four diff two way players in my lineup and pitched a nine inning game while never using my bullpen even once against the cpu just for the fun of seeing if I could do it. I don’t play online at all
