Sometimes you just have to let go....

Sorry that happened to you. It sucks for sure and Sony and SDS should have some better communication lines for the sake of their customers. The fact that it sounds like neither entity is willing to call the other and work through the issue is unacceptable. But as someone who has worked support on a much smaller scale I know that companies look at resolution rates and nobody wants to spend hours trying to solve one tricky issue when they can resolve a half dozen easy issues in the same time span.

Call Sony. Call sds. Record both. Why? I think we would all like to hear it for ourselves. Seriously, have you ever considered flipping cards? I didnt know how so i learned for fun. I made 400k in 3 days. You could probably make a ton more. Best of luck with the ban!

Unreal, I wish I had any advice to give, much like others in the thread. This is just horrible to read and I feel awful for you. Best wishes

There is no option to call SDS. I tried multiple times. The support line for SDS sends you right back to the PlayStation line. PlayStation support refused to send me an email stating that my account was not currently and has never been banned or suspended. I asked for a detailed text log to be sent to me as I communicated via their chat to document my struggles. They said that I could copy text out of the chat window, but they didn't send conversations out. I provided the conversation number that PlayStation centralized all of my chats into and sent that to SDS. I even sent the chat text to SDS support on one occasion. On the phone they put you on hold to review the ticket notes and then come back and say that there is nothing they can do like the previous agents and managers stated. From there they "escalate" the ticket, but they only say it is to the only group that can help. That group is not SDS per the reps. From there, conversation stops.

I am a high-volume support lead for a very large corporation. I handle upwards of 750 calls the first 2 weeks of each month and I test new software builds the second half of each month. So I understand to a small degree the type of responsibility the folks at Sony and SDS have on a daily basis. I just need one person to believe what I am saying and look into my issue. I have all the proof. I have records and if the only problem is I was banned/suspended for a chargeback in error then look at all of the purchases I have made for MLB The Show 23 and then look at my one single charge back over 10 years. Or chat with a PS rep and ask if I have ever been banned/suspended. But if that can't be done then just transfer my cards to my new account so I don't lose all progress and I will handle things from there.

Maybe @The_Canuckler and @BJDUBBYAH_PSN can help. They love praising SDS for their hard work L@L

I love MLB The Show and I have played the game for over a decade. I have always been a die-hard PlayStation fan as well. I have owned every instance of PS consoles and video games have always given me a release from stress in my life. But recently I do not feel the same love from either PS or SDS. My account was main account (SevisonJN) was banned for a single charge back of $99.99 for a 150k stubs bundle that was never redeemed. PlayStation recommended the action and two days later SDS banned me from online play.
I reached out to PlayStation support who told me that I needed to work through SDS since they are the ones who banned me. I reached out to SDS support who told me that PlayStation banned me. I spoke with 7 PlayStation reps who would not make a call to SDS on my behalf. My complaints were escalated to two separate Managers who reiterated that I had never been banned by PlayStation and that my charge back met PlayStations guidelines. Between my two accounts I am pushing $3000 in game purchases and this one instance of a $99.99 chargeback got me a one-year suspension.
I created this account and recompleted all Conquest maps, TA3, most of TA2 and part of TA1. But having all of the cards from the first 2 seasons in one account and then all of the cards in this account is demoralizing. I tried giving PlayStation and SDS time to work this out, but we are pushing two months of my suspension and no communication has occurred in over 6 weeks. I really do feel this is a gut punch for a couple of reasons. First, there is no means for me to prove myself innocent. There is a lookup tool on the PlayStation site where they will email you if you are banned, but they do not email you anything if your account isn't banned. There is no person at SDS to talk to and provide supporting evidence. There is no way to escalate this to anyone who will work this issue from a Sony Corporate, PlayStation corporate or SDS corporate perspective. I even tried to access a regional sales rep to see if they could assist me.
Everyone says this is just a video game and they are right. But if you spent $3000 and got banned for a $99.99 chargeback, how would you feel? I suppose an extra $3000 a year would buy me a really nice vacation. I wish my loyalty was reciprocated and someone would at least merge my old account cards with my new account card so I could move forward. But this post will likely just get me banned on my new account. I guess sometimes you just have to relize that nobody is going to help you and just let go. I wish you all the best, but I just can't do this anymore.
Spending $3000 should definitely earn you a ban.

@FellsPointGuy_PSN Brother my heart is truly, truly with you. Please don’t give up yet. Let me spin you a quick yarn…except not quick. I’ve read every last word you’ve posted and I’m invested with you now my friend, and I’m on your side. This is an embarrassment and, if not corrected (IF you vow on your Sacred Honor that you’re being truthful…I believe you) would be a real slap in the face for people who play this game legit.
True Story. I’ve left it a bit ambiguous for reasons that will quickly become obvious to anyone who’s ever signed an NDA. I was once incredibly frustrated with two companies same as you and their red tape handcuffing them from speaking to one another. I was in the middle like you are and needing resolution. I took matters into my own hands and contacted the first one and navigated my way through their switchboard until I found the dept I was looking for and, once there drilled down until I was convinced I had their MOST knowledgeable person in house and I established a rapport with the guy after a couple of days calling to discuss it. The first time I direct dialed this particular engineer’s desk phone and he answered…I knew I had set my hook.
I did the same with the other party (was much smaller company so was a much quicker process) with equal success and, once I had them both confirm to me that the issue was absurd and shouldn’t be a thing anymore….guess what I did? I did a three way call and put those two engineers together, which, in turn, solved my problem. This conversation (it was one for the ages, I didn’t even have to speak after the introductions as there was zero confusion as to what the reason was for this call) spawned a complete series of meetings between the two companies…and, after one month (when I inherited this problem it had been an existing problem for 7 years) the problem was solved and life became easier and safer for a whole lot of people….probably no small amount of people reading this right now…if you’ve ever flown on an aircraft that’s being propelled by a particular model of Rolls Royce jet engine in the last 5 years then you’re included.
The aero company I worked for at the time was a vendor for RR and it this phone call involved the 1st and 2nd stage HPT blades and vanes in the hot section of a particular model. Ask anyone in the industry what the odds are that an official change to their existing Repair Manual would occur in a months time and see what they say…difference was that I was not satisfied with the answers I was getting and I felt the burden of Atlas over the guys who worked for me having to deal with the repercussions over a nonsensical bit of engineering that, while possibly impressive to the colleagues, had made life a living hell for my company and for zero reason whatsoever….
Don’t settle if you don’t want this partner. I says dig in your heels and spurs and ride this sucker!

wow mate your story is brutal to read - i am sorry to hear that - SDS should be ashamed of themselves that is horrible customer service
unbelievable !!! i hope it gets resolved for you
SDS isn't horrible. They are just human. Sometimes policies do not align. I thought since Sony owns SDS and Sony own PlayStation that this would be an easier resolution, but they might as well be two separate entities. I have defended SDS a lot on these boards in the past. I just can't defend an unjustified ban, especially since I am clearly a paying customer and not one trying to defraud Sony or SDS.
you are much more patient than i am - to say that this hasn't been a horrible experience for you is an understatement - their lack of correspondence and support speaks volumes about how they think of their customers - this maxim applies to any business outside of just game world

I am more defeated than patient. I tried to look up people using the credits that the game shows when you select that option. Those phone numbers are just hidden. I have sent a few messages via twitter and live streams and got nowhere. I was calling PlayStation every day for about 10 days, but there is clearly nothing they will do for me because on their end everything is in working order. I even pay for two subscriptions so I can play my online games from my other account and so I can play MLB on my new account.

Honestly I say good riddance more than 50% of the online player base are griefers and generally unpleasant to play against. Between the mouse and keyboard users, bunt cheesers, cronus user, and lag switchers I’m sure what ever you did to get banned was completely warranted and well deserved. With the way SDS manages this game whatever you did was probably especially egregious and I hope you realize that now.
Chargeback ban... none of the things you mentioned had anything to do with me, but thanks for contributing nothing of substance to my thread. Have a great night.
By “whatever you did” I’m inclined to believe TPB didn’t even read the post but jumped in to share his thoughts.

They were just being hateful. No reason for me to buy into any of that. I do not feel the need to defend myself when I did nothing wrong.

These are the days where I wish I had my full assortment of cards. Not being able to move around resources to drum up stubs without buying them is tough. I think a "just wanted to let you know that we are working your issue" would go a long way.

I wonder how much MLBTS has lost from these suspensions. This only really targets the unimportant players who continue to pay them throughout the year. Makes sense.

Thanks... I can't ask for any more help as I feel that I have exhausted all other means of support. At 17 I joined the Marines and spent almost my entire time overseas. I am a service-connected disabled veteran and have supported the government since leaving the Marines. I put myself through college at night while working during the day. I am not asking for anything special as far as support is concerned, but if I was banned for no reason from any other aspect of my life, I would fight tooth and nail. But I have no means to do so.
