Why is this game poorly optimized compared to last year's release?

Yes, I have a PS4. The game was playable last year and I enjoyed it more than any other game in recent releases. I'm a guy who's played so much Show I can tell you we've had Dave Campbell's "ouchback" audio as an Easter Egg years after he stopped commentating when hit by pitch.

I have no idea why there are so many FPS drops during gameplay this year? SDS patched this pretty quickly last year.

I get the system is old, eventually Sony will stop producing games for this system it still doesn't mean I get forced out to buy a PS5 by the game being unplayable.

Hi delv, I’m with ya 100%!! I owned both last gen consoles and the frame rate is atrocious in MLB the show 23(last gen version).

PS- I just bought a xbox series x, and MLB the show 23 is amazing on this generation of consoles.

PS4 last year was terribly optimized, especially when you go to Yankee stadium, it was slow af....like 25 frames. And trying to play on legend with max speeds was tough. Now that i got a PS5, everything is smooth as butter 120 frames at 1440p...looks and plays great on my monitor. Now if only Sony can get their S%$t together and add Ultrawide wide it would be amazing, or better yet release it on PC so modders can fix what you can't SDS.
