Without looking it up, who gave up Roger Maris' 61st HR at Yankee Stadium in 1961?
Tracy Stallard!!
Only four players have successfully stolen a base in 4 different decades. Can you name the players?
Brilliant answer.....ding ding ding
Your question is hard and only three come to mind who played that long.
Rickey Henderson
Tim Raines
Omar Visquel
Ty Cobb or Honus Wagner????? -

Ty Cobb or Honus Wagner?????You’ve got the first 3 correct! The 4th player was definitely known more for his bat. In fact, he only stole 24 bases in his career yet he certainly didn’t struggle getting on base

LOL 24 steals in his career yet played in 4 decades. I'll have to think about that one.

Great guess but George played from ‘73 to ‘93 so he was only able to accomplish the feat in 3 decades

Nope. I played with George in high school. He was a 2nd round pick in 1971 made it to the show in 73 and retired in 93.

The only guy I can think of that played in 4 decades with a great bat and no wheels is Ted Williams. I think he started in 1939 and finished in 1960. Maybe it was Stan Musial but I don't think he started until the 40's

Only from you. You try to be funny but aren't. Always harping on the Astros blah blah. Dodgers lost the World Series AT Dodger Stadium. So tell me, if the trash can was such an advantage for 81 homes games, why didn't Springer and Bregman hit 60 HR's with a short porch at Minute Maid? Why didn't Altuve hit .400? Why didn't the team hit .300? Altuve was winning batting titles and getting 200 hits a season when the Astros were losing 100 games a season. But he needs a buzzer? Laughable. I don't agree with what they did but why don't stats align with what you are saying for home games?

You are correct! Ted Williams successfully stole bases in the ‘30s, ‘40s, ‘50s, and even in 1960. He was a career 24/41 stealing bases which means his career OBP of 0.482 is nearly as high as his successful stolen base rate of 0.585

I don't believe for a second that the cheating was limited to home games. I believe they were more subtle when on the road. The reason Bregman and Springer didn't hit 60 is because they just aren't talented enough to hit that many even when they are cheating. Altuve is a HOF talent and really tainted his reputation but if you believe that he didn't have anything on under his jersey after he hit that homer off Chapman and you really believe it had something to do with a tattoo that his wife was embarrassed about you are blinded by your rooting interest. I remember watching that, and this was before the cheating was known, and just thinking that was the most bizarre way to act after hitting a walkoff.
