I’ve been ripping through the event, and ranked, all day, silky smooth. No lag whatsoever, great connections.

Actually laggy connections aren’t affected by lag. While it might seem silky smooth for you your opponents in game connection is probably playing catch up waiting for your modem to send a response.
It might be a stuttering mess with players sliding around the field, 100 mph curveballs, and you would have no idea if your internet is sub par. That is how the networking for this game works. So if you never experience lag you are most likely inducing it and not on the receiving end of it.
That doesn’t mean your game will lag for everyone you play ,but the larger the ping differential the more the better connection is being kneecapped. It’s the fps equivalent of being shot behind a wall in cover.

I actually have seen the same thing as DEMISE with lousy connections lately.
Add in they still can’t figure out the “Donaldson effect” and I have no internet in RS which sucks as I have been waiting to finish my WS push…..oh well….

I can’t imagine being so bad at this game I can’t notice the difference in connections game to game.

Have the IP addresses for the various game server sites ever been revealed? I figure not (security issue) but it doesn't hurt to ask. If we had them, we could do a ping to see where we sit. Better yet, an in-game display would sure be nice. My download is usually around 500mbps, but as you said, the transfer rate to the server matters more.

You don’t notice the ball freezing and 100 mph curveballs because someone is playing the game on a WiFi hotspot? Game stutter is extremely noticeable and a big reason most people don’t bother with online all together.
I tip my hat to those that can figure it out but if it was a solid product you wouldn’t have to readjust from game to game. Peer 2 peer connection has been unacceptable for any major title for more than 10 years now. It’s a lousy product bottom line.
I really wish we had another option. I have no complaints with offline but that component actually works unlike the online which is erratic at best. Not to mention crossplay isn’t done very well.
The fact we haven’t had any gameplay updates in months shows how careless they’ve become with this title. It almost reminds of MLB 2K when they would release a game and just leave it for dead which is what SDS has essentially done with this year’s title. That is not up for debate they have not even tried to improve this product.

This is the right answer, people that never lag are probably running bad internet and most likely over WiFi, lag compensation benefits them, it’s very annoying and unfair to those who pay for a good service and have good modems.

Well I sure don’t blame connectivity for my losses in a video game. That much I know. And shouldn’t you be playing 2k 13 with Rae and Demise? I hear they’ve got Co-op now.
