Best new captain

I have fun using the captains this year to switch things up. Cal Ripken,Trevor Hoffman and David Wright were my favorites for a while but I think I found possibly the best captain. Jimmy Rollins! Any player with shortstop primary or secondary get his boost. Think about how many good shortstop and secondary shortstops are in the game. You gotta try this. Definitely recommend.

Picked him up as well. More favorable boost against RHP but nice that it counts SS secondary and always love Jimmy cards so this may be one Captain I use for a bit.

Yeah I’ve always loved Jimmy cards too but you don’t have to keep him in the whole game to get the boost for everyone else. You can switch him out early.

Don't wait to pick him up. Cal Ripken got hyped on durability boost and got up over 100k + pretty fast once the word spread and content creators made videos. I spent 1.5 mill at 17k and bought 80 of him and sitting currently at 50k on about 3.5 mill in profit but he is going higher. Also since he is the first CORE captain that will add value as well.

Can someone tell me where these cards come from? I’m on vacation away from the game but saw them in the market so I was curious if there was a pack for them somewhere?

I agree that Rollins is good but he’s reliant on guys like Jazz or Trea that can play in the outfield and I don’t know if set 3 will have that

The card hits like a champ and the boosts make the Giants fun to play with.

JR is my favorite card regardless . Love his swing and I rarely strike out with him.

I agree. His swing is so good. My only issue with him is he’s way too slow to play SS. Put him at DH or second base you can hide his weakness. That’s honestly his only weakness.

Pretty sure this got patched in Update 9 or 10 according to the developer notes.

He’s slow but I gotta say he’s a vacuum at short at least when the cpu is controlling him I just plaid them and he looked like the Wizard out there backhanding balls deep in the hole and throwing me out by a step without ever turning to throw it looked like Linda Blair in the exorcist

I just want to thank you for this; while not secret info, I most likely would not have considered this option... but, having to part with Torii Hunter soon and having little success with Nootbar and Bader, I remembered this post when looking at options, and now I'm sporting a Set 3 eligible roster with 11 guys that can play short.
I never would have looked at guys like Rengifo, or put Westburg out in RF (both pretty impressive with that boost)... may not be the world beating meta squad, but I'm enjoying it and having a blast again, which is far more important.

Hey man You don’t have to thank me. I’m glad you really like it. I’m just sharing my opinion of options that I think are fun and potentially really good. I appreciate you for the thanks though.
I also really like using Rengifo in my lineup with that boost. He seems to hit everything really hard and his swing is incredible and he’s a switch hitter. Jorge Polanco is almost maxed out contact with that boost and makes him one of the best hitters in the game imo. WBC Xander gets maxed out vs both sides. I’ve also been having success with Jackson Holiday and Collection Corey Seager too. Plus the obvious Ketel Marte and Lindor, The one that really surprised me was Noveli Marte. He’s been my best hitter for the past few games. Honestly I thought I would need to take Jimmy Rollins out after the first inning but he’s got sneaky power too. So many options

That Jackson Holiday card is dynamite is it not. That’s a fun one to sneak into the 7 or 8 hole - he always makes them pay
