fielding is still wild

At this point i don't know if im doing something wrong or what lol i been playing the game for ever but this year im scared to field a ball in the outfield...after the patch i see the same stuff that was happening before! My outfielders randomly not locking up smh am i the only one?

Your not the only one. Mantle ran to a ball last night and didn’t stick his glove up at all. The ball went past his face and hit the ground bouncing to the wall in center field.
The fielding is messed up for sure this year

I’m not being negative at all. I’m hitting well, the fielding I’ve had some really weird [censored] happen tho. Almost like I have Griffey playing every position lol

I’m not having this problem. Not to say it isn’t happening at all. I’ve had one infield pop up that my fielder didn’t reach for.
I have had issues in the past in the outfield with overrunning the ball or the occasional time a fielder puts his glove up and slows down despite still being 10 feet from the ball.
My remedy to this has always been to alter my route to the ball a little bit. I usually aim for the back of the landing spot and come in instead.
I don’t know if something like that will help, but like I said, I haven’t experienced anything like what you’re describing outside of one isolated incident.

I've had some crazy animations post patch. I would explain them, but I have no words.
Needless to say, the patch didn't accomplish it's goal.

Not the only one. Happening to me all day, watching streams where the same thing is happening to others. Genuinely scared for anything routinely hit into the outfield no one is guaranteed to lock into anything easy at all.

Yep. Played 2 games and booted approximately 5 easy grounders. Mantle just dropped a line drive hit directly at him. Harper couldn't lock onto a fly ball. SDS fails once again. I understand theres a pandemic going on but don't say something is fixed when its not.

I use that same "remedy" and it doesn't work had a big infield fly earlier tried fielding it with helton and he legit wouldn't lock onto the spot ball took a huge bounce and winded up going into shallow right after that runner advanced to 2nd and this is just 1 of many times this happened today have eddie mathews in left as a secondary which hes still a silver fielder and its like he checks his texts during crucial times of the game

To me it’s not just the fielding , it’s the timing of when errors occur.

Fielding is worse post patch. New problems have popped up for me. Guys over running balls now. This game will be dead in a couple months if they don’t fix this stuff.

Didn’t have problems, only 2 times my OF didn’t make the play I was to blame. Now yesterday post patch, holy cow it happened 3-4 times and not input related. A lot worse for me

I’ve also had my outfielders randomly lock onto spots nowhere near where the ball was going? Anyone else have this happen?

There's still issues to be sure, but you guys are acting like outfielders are missing routine fly balls every single inning.

I’ve had one miss a routine fly ball my last 3 or 4 games now. That shouldn’t happen ever. I get it with trash fielders, but 99 mantle missed a routine play for me last night. Trout took one to the face the game before. It’s atrocious

I'm not doubting your experience, but mine has been different. I've had more issues with players warping into wierd predetermined routes than missed catches.

I had 0 problems pre-patch, now it’s god awful. Each RS game is now 3-4 errors total for both teams; used to be one every other game

Trout has had so many balls hit him in the face I don’t even recognize him anymore. I hold my breathe every time a ball is hit to him.
