Optimizing offline experience

Here is how I enjoy the game:
- limit a roster to a single team, both live and special (e.g Topps) players.
- avoid purchasing players so that the majority of players are from in-game (NMS) packs and programs.
- play games on All Star or HOF.
As a result, you will often have teams with solid diamonds combined with some much lower live cards - especially for pitchers.
But all the games played are fun and a challenge - even Conquest games. Typically, the games are better and tougher than many online games - at least from what I have experienced.Take your best roster and play Classic Mini Seasons on AS. All the games are tight and if I win, it is typically by a run. I find that silver pitchers can hold their own with good pitch location and selection.
If anyone has suggested alternatives to make offline more interesting than hammering out wins with a squad of the best possible, post them here.
Overall, I'm not trying to run through the programs, but rather my goal is to enjoy the game.

Well, technically that should be everybody's goal.
Unfortunately many forget that fact.

Isn’t that the point also? To go through the programs to unlock the cards from them you want to use? Idk , there are many ways to play. I enjoy things differently. I grind to earn the cards as quick as possible because most of these program cards and affinity cards are automatic collection fodder. Said collection fodder leads to some of the better NMS card options in the game.
If people see an issue with this then look no further than the developer , not the player. The developer is the entity putting the carrot at the end of the stick , not the players.
Enjoying the game should be everyone’s goal. Just keep in mind that it’ll look different for every individual

I disagree. OP is doing it right and you're doing it wrong.

I never implied or insinuated how anyone's fun should look. Whether it is DD, RTTS, or Franchise. Whether an online or offline player. Whether a hardcore grinder or a casual player. The first and foremost goal should always be to have fun.

I loved this. We prefer a lot of the same things. I’ve noticed the AI tends to be much more sportsmanlike. I just wish I could make my pitches go within at least six inches of where I had intended when I get to the highest difficulty. I’ve never had the courage to try and figure out the mode where you use only the sticks but I bet that’s the key.
