Give back real names

The card art is fine, whatever, but this change to how player names are displayed is the most ill-advised decision I've seen. SDS, please give back normal names for lineups, box scores, etc. I've always played this game for the realistic immersion (as much as a game can), but with this move, as RedTurn2 steps up to the plate, I feel like I'm playing a childish middle school bootlegged knockoff. If I wanted to play Super Mega Baseball, I'd buy that.
Honestly, the scariest and most ominous thing to me is that the decision makers at SDS seemingly no longer understand what has historically made this game great..

Yep, it’s shifting to kids and die hards. The adult casuals are being suggestively squeezed out with each move made this year.

The things going on with this game are what happens when a company truly doesn't listen to the feedback of their customer base. They pay attention here and there, but never truly dig into the things players like, dislike, and feel could truly elevate the game. Then they just randomly just start making decisions because of things they think they heard like "content is stale" or "it's the same every year" or "all programs are the same". They haven't taken the time to understand what most players mean when those things are said.

All true. They ARE listening to the accountants though, because microtransactions are the clear goal and push this year.
I know the sweats didn't like '21 but I think it was the pinnacle for this game. Yes, things were easier to obtain but it was FUN to do so, unlike programs now that pxp is the end all be all.

Completely agree on the microtransactions part, but feel that is more connected to the "no sell" decisions and set/seasons. I feel like the icognito and monster stuff is just SDS trying to "shake things up", but not having a pulse on what the community would like in order to "shake things up".
'21 was my first year to play and it was a lot of fun. There were gameplay issues, but the programs and design were a lot of fun which caused me to play the game a ton. '22 and now '23 have really just been carry over for me from that. I have said it on here before, but easy is not always bad. I am not saying it should be easy to be WS or go Flawless, but programs that are not a complete grind are not a bad thing. It is better have to programs that are engaging and keep people wanting to play, rather than programs that drain people from countless pxp missions and cause them to put down the controller. There is a lot to the "keep them wanting more" mentality. For a lot of the population '23 has been "enough is enough" or "just stop".

This is just their version of the players weekend jersey that I assume died back in 2019. I guess not. My custom jerseys have no names so I don’t even notice them and I mentally turned off the announcers forever ago. The only thing I have is the names on screen which is negligible for me to be honest. Do I like it? No. Can I do anything about it? No.

Last year was the most fun I've had in this game and I've played this game ever since it was 989 Studios. This year it the most obvious attempt to exclude their core demographic. The focus on micro transactions and no sell rewards is getting out of hand.

I would rather the real names on the line up screens and use the player's real name for searching in the market ect.
You dont have to search for the cards in the market though...
