"The Jays announced Friday they would be removing Alomar, 53, from their "Level of Excellence" that honors franchise greats in Rogers Centre and taking down his retired No. 12 banner in center field at the stadium that honors his time in Toronto and his induction into the Hall of Fame in 2011"

Didn't see that. If guilty of what was alleged, I agree. But, he hasn't been convicted of anything as far as a can tell. Canada obviously doesn't believe in innocent until proven guilty. But, clearly neither does drunky Rob Manfred. He should be on MLB's ineligible list for constantly being drunk on duty.

This isn't a court of law, that is the only place where innocent until proven guilty appllies. If being associated with him hurts the Blue Jays brand, they will kick him to the curb

Out of curiosity, did the Blue Jays remove Roberto Alomar's retired number 12 from the rafters in real life? Because I only see Roy Halladay's and PG for Pat Gillick. Would be cool if they also added the names to the Level Of Excellence. You know, like Joe Carter, Carlos Delgado, Tony Fernandez, so on.

He’s on MLB’s ineligible list and has been for 2 years.

Yet, MLB still associates itself with Kennesaw Mountain Landis.

I was generally curious. I didn't know that he was placed on the ineligible list. But, there's a whole lot of hypocrisy when it comes to that. Not MLB related, but where does Matt Araiza go to get his reputation back? Anyone ever Duke Lacrosse?

Please won't someone think of the predators or some people that were falsely accused so every case is fake then is not a great argument stance

It's a simple as the Blue Jays and MLB sees more harm then good in continuing a relationship with Alomar, it's not a court of law, it's a business decision.

Maybe not. And, no one here is supporting predators. However, false accusations have a way of making someone skeptical. Until proven guilty.

MLB and Blue Jays have no obligation to wait for a court ruling

If he is proven guilty, throw the book at him. And, I understand the optics. So, I understand the decision.

Anyway, would still be cool if they added actual names to the Level of Excellence. Instead of just having it on the wall with nothing to say why it's there.

Baseball had a 2 year investigation and found evidence of guilt, they don't need a court of law to ban you.
