Five legends or flashback players that are from your favourite team and are not currently in the game, who would you choose?
As a Jays fan, in no particular order
- George Bell
- Dave Steib
- Tony Fernandez
- Roger Clemens
- Jose Bautista
Honourable Mention: Pat Hentgen
Overall I feel all teams need some new blood. I’d rather be seeing new players than five versions of a player with different ratings.
You mean you wouldn’t want Tony Bautista and his wild batting stance as a Jays fan? A 2000 Tony Bautista card would be so good.

I need a chiropractor when I just look at the stance. Just like I needed a therapist every time Erik Hanson took the mound.

Curt schilling
Pat Burrell
Carlos Ruiz
Steve Carlton
Bobby abreu -
Braves
Dale Murphy
Bob Horner
Ron Gant
Brian Mcann
Andruw Jones- A diamond John Smoltz Relief Pitcher card would be nice. He did have 150 career saves including a 50 save season.

John Smoltz was a running joke one year because he had so many different cards; and yes, one was a diamond reliever version. I forget which year’s game that was.

Great post OP! These are the threads that make me like coming in here.
I’m a Cardinals fan by blood- my family is from there and told me if I didn’t root for them I had to eat elsewhere. When you are two, that’s a daunting proposition. Plus they are awesome.
Cardinals-
Honorary mention- Pujols- I know he’ll be back in a few years and just left so I won’t count him, but still my favorite player of all time.- Rogers Hornsby
- Scott Rolen
- Steve Carlton- I know he’s known as a Phillie but his first 7 years were in St. Louis and he was quite good then too.
- Vince Coleman
- Dizzy Dean
I would love to see Berkman and Beltran too even though they were only there a few years each.

Someone around here with some street cred in this forum should do a ‘top 5 or 10 ball players that you’d hate to face in a brawl’.
I’d probably put Mike Tyson as my number one because, well, you know….just in case.
You know, I remember reading a SI article back in the mid 80s about Tyson and it said he once had a sparring partner that involuntarily shat himself when one of his uppercuts missed by an inch. He didn’t even make contact and dudes TURDS even knew to get the heck out of there!
I grew up loving WWF/E wrestling and there were guys that seemed tough and guys that you knew could probably kick the crud out of anyone. The Undertaker in his prime I imagine would do some serious damage.
As for baseball players. Kyle Farnsworth and Kevin Mitchell would be an entertaining throw down.

Pirates:
Andy Van Slyke
Barry Bonds
Vern Law
Manny Sanguillen
Dock P. Ellis Jr.Honorable mentions:
Josh Gibson (Homestead Grays)
Cool Papa Bell (Homestead Grays)
Jack Wilson
Brian Giles
Russell Martin
Francisco Córdova
Sid Bream
Mike York
John Smiley
Arky Vaughan
Paul Waner
Babe Adams
Bob Friend
John Candeleria
So many more, just from the pirates. -

Mitch was such a beast was he not!
Wrestling was so incredibly epic back then! I still have that album they cut way back when and still have everyone lines memorized from that incredible and without equal version of ‘Land of a thousand Dances’
Hogans such a YO-YO!
Classic. We should field us a ball team from any 5 that made an appearance in that video
