It’s almost like people constantly whined about the game being the same year after, so they changed it. Weird.
Na I wasn’t one of those people
And honestly what people complained about last year was GAMEPLAY-
Content was never an issue with this game
Everyone always said content/cards are great and always have the content team props
Last year the issue was gameplay
Read the comments of any social media post from the last two years. Any platform, any post.
Lol what? People did not complain about content
The main complaint was gameplay last year
That’s why sds made sure to address that in their streams before 23 was released
The main complaint was not content
Are we literally rewriting history right now?? Lol bro it wasn’t that long ago
I didn’t say it was the “main complaint” you did.
Here’s a question for you champ.
How many cards from April or May of last year, aside from any collection rewards, were in your lineup come October? But absolutely did imply that by saying “people complained last year and now they’re complaint again”
When this thread has nothing to do what people were mainly complaining about last year bc last year the main complaint was GAMEPLAY
gameplay is better than ever so sds addressed that issue
There was very little complaints about content as the content team always does a stellar job
And your other post is irrelevant because they didn’t release super cracked cards early in the game last year like they did this year
So one of their main selling points this year was “99’s on day one”
Which is great- but also these 99’s weren’t easy to get. You either had to pay money or grind BR
So you’re telling me after all the money spent to buy Trout/Griffey/JT/Marte etc etc(and they weren’t cheap) they are going to turn around in a month and tell me I can’t use those cards anymore?
Lol that’s ridiculous- because those cards are end game cards… what’s the use of 99’s on day one if I can’t even use them 2-3 months into the game cycle
After I spent hard earned money/time to get them
You didn’t answer the question though.
Your question is irrelevant because they didn’t release 99s on day one like they did this year
So if a 99 Trout was released on day one last year and I bought him for over 100k stubs on day one then you can guarantee that he would be in my lineup for most of the year if not the whole year
Your argument isn’t really making sense bro and to add to the fact that I just made- I WASNT TOLD WHEN I COULD OR COULD NOT USE PLAYERS LAST YEAR LOL
I’m not arguing, you are. I just merely pointed out the fact that people complained about the game never changing, and are now complaining about the game changing. You’ve decided to attack me and shout obscenities, call me irrelevant, and just be a clown because you spent money on Mike Trout I guess. Well. Okay then.
Obscenities are curses and I haven’t cursed once in this entire thread including my interaction with you
I didn’t call you irrelevant- I said your question or point was irrelevant because it didn’t make sense
Two very different things.
Also you did come in here to argue/debate the point that was being made by this thread which is fine because I have no issue stating my point in a mature manor if someone disagrees
And also you’re the one being belligerent/condescending by calling me names(clown see your previous post)
And I did nothing like that to you- show me where I called you out of your name, insulted you or as you said, wrote obscenities..
I’ll wait because I know you can’t lol
Sorry that 100 dollars is a lot of money to you.
Ahh you’re a troll and a bad one at that.
So you called me a clown and I’m not so many words poor- when I’ve probably spent more money on this game than you have lol.
My stating I have a problem spending money on something and not being able to use isn’t “poor”
It’s actually smart- and honestly rich people only spend money on things, what for it, that they can use lol
You’ll be put on the block list after this but I’m glad I was able to shut down all your IRRELEVANT points in this thread
Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday night!
Enjoy continuing to play the game.

Wow this is news to me. No way I’m playing after my set 1 cards expire lol I thought my squad was set for a while and I wouldn’t have to grind if I didn’t want to. They’re really attempting to make this game a job at this point. This is why every sports game gets a bad wrap.

They were pretty transparent about this change from the get go

They had streams about it.

@eatyum_PSN said in Expiring Cards is absolutely ridiculous:

I agree they were but they also said it was a trial and error thing to see how it worked out
Like I said earlier I didn’t really think about it in the beginning bc it seemed so far away and I guess in the back of my mind I thought- “they wouldn’t do that”
And obviously that wasn’t the smartest on my part
But then seeing how heavy the offline grind is this year and the season coming to an end in about a month it really made me think about it more as of late
And I stand by what I said- it’s absolutely ridiculous to grind/spend for a 99 cracked card
Then not being able to use said card and then having to do that grind or spend money all over again for pretty much the same exact card all over again lol
It doesn’t even make sense when I say it out loud
-
The content is only gonna get better so I wouldn’t sweat it.

Exactly, no reason to get bent out of shape about something that hasn’t even happened yet. I’m about to unlock the Big Unit with 10 more set two cards, and it will immediately replace a set one card, which even if I could use all year, I may never use again.
-
@mjfc_363_PSN said in Expiring Cards is absolutely ridiculous:

The issue isn’t if the content will be great or not
The issue is being FORCED to have cards your grinded for be absolutely irrelevant in a month or so
Just picture if you grinded season one for chipper, babe and Pedro
You can literally only use one of them next month and that’s only if you decide to make one of them your wildcard over your other cards at that
That’s wayyyyyyy too much grinding to have the cards you grinded for be irrelevant
And I don’t think you’re going to get much better than chipper or babe- maybe equal but not better… if anything might be slightly better
Chipper and Babe are pretty much maxed out lol
Babe is 100% maxed out.

It's almost like they had the same programs year over year and just released the same players every year. Baseball has had so many great players over the years. It shouldn't be that hard. Also, every card being a 99 is just corny. That's not what anyone asked for. We've been asking for gameplay fixes since like mlb 20 and they haven't touched a thing

No they said the trial and error thing to see how it worked out was about captains, not sets

Then don’t play, don’t buy stubs, and don’t buy the game anymore. Hit ‘em where it hurts.

Ok I’m able to say when I was mistaken which I was about the trial and error.. I believe
But I do remember them being pretty ambiguous about what further seasons/sets would consist of
So if I’m never able to use these set one cards again what’s the purpose of keeping them? What was the purpose of grinding for them and building their stats
Are they just going to make my Griffey and trout from season one obsolete and then turn around and gives us another griffey and trout that I need to pay/grind for again
These are my questions/gripes with this whole thing

I get what you are saying, but I think this is the age we live in. Games are modeled after mobile games which are designed to keep people playing and spending currency.
No that’s exactly what it is and it’s really frustrating- it’s a money grab
Like I bought the BR reward Griffey- so now in a month I won’t be able to use him but they will come out with a new 99 Griffey that I either have to grind for or pay more money for
I’m almost disgusted with this- sorry if it sounds like I just woke from a coma but this really didn’t hit me in the earlier months of the game bc we were able to use any cards we like
I'm guessing that new Griffey will be in another 75k bundle that you have less than a 1% chance of getting. Enjoy!

@BJDUBBYAH_PSN said It’s almost like people constantly whined about the game being the same year after, so they changed it. Weird.
So what.
Your hypothesis, is that people's complaints caused this year's content format? Even if it was, that is still no acceptable excuse.
SDS alone, is responsible for this ca$h grabbing, Set expiring, content trash.

SDS is a for profit company. They intend to make money. Sounds like your problem is with free market capitalism.

Silly comment. No one says they do not have the right. However, in order for them to have long term financial success, like any company, they should care about their product and consumer feedback.

I completely agree it’s stupid. Really stupid. I’m not sure what they were thinking. I could see different seasons and sets but restricting the cards and then only giving us one wildcard. Maybe if it was one wildcard per set it would be better. This doesn’t help lineup diversity at all. It makes it much worse.
