Only difference I really notice between Rookie and Veteran...CPU pitchers on Veteran actually seem to be more erratic and pitches are a lot more volatile. I'll go from Rookie where every pitch is practically a meat ball to playing a stronghold on Veteran and the pitcher not only throws way more balls out of the zone, but pitches are just nasty. Sliders that go from the middle of the zone to the middle of the opposite batters box. Sinkers that start belt high and end up in the dirt. I get antsy. It's just like jumping into an online game from an offline game. Also, my pitchers seem to miss more down the middle of the plate, but I'm lazy and use classic pitching so I can't really complain about that. My incognito Nestor Cortes got lit up by the Mets. Pete Alonso was his daddy! So like someone else said...it's user error.
Wait til you have to play a game on HOF. I can only imagine what your complaint would be then.

Wasn't complaining...just pointing out differences.

I been saying for the last 2 years, play all conquest on All Star. Hitting will be so much better.
-
For some odd reason... I have always hit better in conquest on All-star than I do on veteran. If you are struggling, hop into practice on HOF and then go play conquest on All-star... I think you will do better than playing on veteran.

Sorry, I’m not explaining it properly. I’m attacking a stronghold. And I’m losing the game to take their stronghold.
Yankees, Red Sox and now the Mets.
I’ve never had to replay three before. Again, even with that crazy extreme kraken map from last year.
This Ta 2 East map is on steroids. Never seen anything like it.
It's weird because I've never had a hard time ever in Conquest, including this year until this TA2 East map. I wouldn't call it a hard time but I've had to do the Braves stronghold 3 times and the Yankees and Marlins twice. That just doesn't happen but all of a sudden the past couple days the CPU is jacking balls over the wall and with guys with little power like Harrison Bader and my guys are swinging pool noodles. I don't mind a challenge but I do rookie and veteran on maps to grind stats and programs.

All games should have to be played at Allstar or above

Why? What difference does it make if people want to play cpu games on whatever difficulty they choose?
Or are you one of those "git gud" gamers.

Just lost my third stronghold on this TA 2 East map. Wow!!!
What difficulty? I think I have only lost once or twice on all the Maps I have completed this season. I pay them all on Veteran.
I am playing them all on veteran or Rookie.
I stopped last night after my last post. I took the Mets stronghold in extra innings but only after the CPU literally (no exaggeration) robbed my team of three homers by climbing the wall in the 3rd inning.
That was enough stress for one evening. Still have Tampa and Toronto to go. Can’t wait to see the “fun” I’ll have with them.

The least constructive and ridiculous post in this thread SHOULD have at least come with, what I'm sure is an entertaining, reason you think that all games SHOULD be played on Allstar or above.

There is definitely something different with Conquest. When I play on rookie in Conquest I rarely put up more than 3 or 4 runs whereas if I play on rookie in play vs the cpu I put up 30-40 per game.
I always score 10 to 30 runs vs CPU. 9 inning games. Depending on who I have on the lineup and their starter.
In conquest it's 3 inning games. I always score 1 to 7 runs per game. Again, it depends who I have hitting and their starters.

AS is definitely more rewarding as far as your offense goes, as Rookie and Veteran have far too much RNG and pitchers with 40 CTRL and 35 BB/9 just painting the borders the entire game, but simming is brutal at times. I've already lost 60-11, 40-9 and 26-3, which makes absolutely zero sense.

Conquest used to be my favorite part of this game, not so much anymore. It has become like a chore for me. Deadball after deadball, getting dotted up, cpu defensive magicians, frustrating experience imo. I could only hope they could come out with a real rookie mode, cut even more xp out idc, but please make it fun like it used to be. Game is becoming like path of exile with the difficulty. Yes, you guessed it.. im not very good, but I still love this game, go figure...

They put the showdown ai in all modes a couple weeks ago. No more 40 to 0 against the ai on rookie buy packs is this years motto

I don't typically buy into conspiracy theories, but I am subscribing to the newsletter on this one. Playing veteran on mini-seasons suddenly feels like legend.

Ran topps now cards and Mexico city cards through nation of baseball start to finish last week , didn’t lose a game , scored double digits on several occasions and was back to using TA cards with 10-15 games remaining. This isn’t a brag post. I’m at best am an average player , probably below average even and didn’t struggle in the slightest. People have problems with lower difficulty because they think that they can swing at whatever and throw whatever wherever. Essentially they play down to their competition.
