Non-sellable packs
-
Last Event we found out that, at least for now, Event Rewind Packs will have past Event Rewards but the cards will be non-sellable.
We also found out early, for TN, and today for POTM that these cards will also be non-sellable.
I know a lot of people made stubs, last year, with cards from these three types of packs.
Looks like SDS is trying to stay away from overly expensive rewards.
That bring said; I could assume that once they release BR, and maybe Ranked, Rewind Packs those also will be non-sellable.

It wouldn’t be fair to the people that won 25 games to earn a card for them to then give it away for 5 wins the next event and it still be fully sellable. It would tank the value and [censored] people off at the same time.
I dont really bother with events or battle royale ever and still wind up with whatever of those cards i actually want - - - might have to start sucking it up for 5 wins if theres cards actually worth playing with ever

What do you mean by 'it wouldn't be fair'?
They're already doing that. Not sure about the current Event; but I know the last one (Moonshot) at 10 wins you got a Rewind Pack. Granted the card wasn't sellable; but you still got a card that, if it was sellable, it would/could be worth 10x as much later in the year.

I love that it's only 5 wins for this event to get a rewind pack
-
This actually forces offline players(like me) to play online to get cards we used to be able to get once online players got the rewind packs. This seems to be what SDS is after with these changes.

I am glad that POTM is not sellable. I know in 21 it wasn’t and then last year it was. The POTM structure last year was terrible.
And the Event rewind packs last year made playing events almost pointless. The cards last year had hardly any value. Those cards will still be in the market this year for “offline” players but they probably won’t cost 13k for any Event card you want like a year ago.

I liked the structure of playing POTM this year… didn’t put the lower value cards at the end of the line

The reward cards for Events are cheap. I don't think it's going to force you to play online. What it is going to do is give a bunch of people a duplicate care they can't sell if they locked in cards to complete Set 1. I'm waiting to get to the 5 wins before I complete Set 1 so I can sell whoever I pick in the rewind pack so I don't have that problem.

25 wins vs 5 wins ? The reward shouldn’t have the same value for 20 less wins. That wouldn’t be fair to the people who did 25 wins for a 5 win reward to be the same a couple weeks later…..that and keeping the event cards somewhat valuable overall is why they made rewinds non sellable

I made so many stubs off the event structure last year since rewind packs were sellable and usually 2 rewind packs per event
Definitely not pointless lol

It's not just that these cards are not sellable. I didn't sell any of them last year and I still feel like it is harder to make stubs through simply playing the game.
The whole POTM program looks to reward 2,500 stubs and beyond that you have to hope to get lucky with the Ballin Is a Habit or Standard packs (and we know those odds are not in our favor)
Topps Now, a whole month of the program rewards 2500. Again you need to get lucky with packs.
Weekly Wonders this week is only 200 stubs and hoping to get lucky with packs.
So that is three programs that reward 5,200 stubs and hopes of getting lucky with packs. Meanwhile, I am still wondering how I am going to come up with the 170,000 stubs I need to get Arenado and Goldschmidt so I can finish the one team collection that I would like to get done.
