I failed the WBC showdown 3 times just before getting to Doval, mainly due to missed opportunities on bad placement. Good timing, but terrible PCI. I was never good at it to begin with, but this year I'm getting punished.
I saw we can win WBC event games to avoid the Showdown. I won 2 games in the current event, but they don't count for the WBC program. Where is this event??Unfortunately, it's over and you are going to have to go back to Showdown to finish the program off. I wish there was another way for you, but there isn't.

Dang. I should beat it, but 3 fails, one on my system shutting off, was painful!!
They should make another way to get the final points, since this program will last until January, I think. -

I’ve failed the showdown at least 20 times, probably closer to 35. I’ve decided not to finish the program. I have all the cards, and that’s what’s important.

You can't have Randy if you haven't finished the program. He's the last reward...

How far do you get without the points from showdown and the event?

Within 10 of finishing.

I have a feeling we will get either another WBC event since there are so many WBC cards and they keep adding more, or possibly another conquest. This is purely a hunch. Also, Randy sucks. At least for me. But I get it…. Just like Alomar.

If he played and won at least 5 WBC Event games he has Randy.
I forgot that you could get progress on the Program by playing the Event, as I just bought the rewards, but I decided to play at the last minute and won 3 games.
Then I had to play the Showdown.

What kind of cards/perks are you guys drafting in showdown? I don't think I will ever understand not being able to complete non-extreme showdowns but I might as well give some pointers
-
When you said Randy my mind went to Randy Johnson and I was like wait what there is a Randy Johnson

Yeah I was hoping WBC Event would always be around since it was part of this program but totally spaced that they did the same thing last year. If you want to get Program stars from Events you have to do them when the Event is live... fortunately for me I think after beating the Team Affinity East Showdown I might finally have a handle on how to beat these things... one thing that I found that benefited me is adjusting my lineup before each showdown based off the specific situation that is happening in that Showdown... figure out who in the batting order is on base and use the pitchers handedness to your advantage when setting your lineup.
I might not have this 100% down to a science but if a runner is on third that is your 7th batter in the order, runner on second is your 8th batter in the order and runner on first is your 9th batter in the order.
Another thing that helped me with Showdown is figuring out how to situate my bench with the default cards on your team... if you can find some speed guys in that group be sure to put them on your bench. Another good thing to watch out for is if you pick Captain cards see if you can at minimum boost to Tier 1 between players you draft and players that are already on your team even the guys in the default group even if they never make it into the game.
Also don't be afraid to pinch run for guys like Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton and other power hitters if they get on base and sometimes if you draft someone like Dee Strange-Gordon aka Dee Gordon don't be afraid to leave him on your bench for pinch running purposes as well.
I've definitely won my fair share of Showdown games using this method.
One final thing, I saw that someone breaks their Showdowns into three sessions and that is a smart way to approach it to always be fresh when playing but for me I'm the opposite way... for me I feel like if I get in a groove I follow the method of "never leaving the table while on a heater", if I am in a good groove I'm going to try to get the Showdown completed in one sitting but if I see that I'm not doing so well at the plate I'm definitely putting the controller down for a bit or doing something else in game until I'm ready to give Showdown another try.

I forgot about that. I won't ever use that card anyway.

Here is the way I played it. When you have a mission with runners on base I always put my two fastest runners in the 7th and 8th spot. I think the 9th spot (last batter) isnt placed on base.

If you have Randy, you've finished the program, and thus there is no reason to play the showdown. He said he had both not finished the program but had all of the cards. Being as the end of the program is a card, this could obviously have not been true, and wasn't. He later says he didn't have Randy and forgot about him.

Did not catch that post. My bad.
