Freeze off’s

How are these still so prevalent? Also, how is there no safeguard in place that allows the winning team to get the W after a certain amount of time…

Made this post when it happened and am still in a freeze off after 13 hours. My friend and I are up 5-0 after 1 inning and these dudes just won’t quit. Something needs to change, this is a joke.

How does this happen? How does a player even do a "freeze off"? I did play someone on Xbox (I am PS) and it froze after I got a hit and scored my 3rd run, but it lasted for maybe a minute as it said my opponent lost connection.

It’s just a random occurrence. The “freeze off” comes when the losing player decides not to quit because they have no life and want to get a free win against a player they can’t beat. You’re lucky your opponent decided to do the right thing and quit.
-
It seems to be mostly happening in coop ranked seasons. I play regular RS & events and have not had a single freeze off.

But how does someone do this? If you stop playing then the AI plays and if you pause then they get timed out and lose. I just don't know how someone "initiates" a freeze off.

I couldn't find it in my settings on my PS last night. If I could find it I would do it. LOL

There is no initiating it. It’s a random occurrence, and the game gets stuck on a particular screen. First person to quit takes the loss regardless if you were winning or not.

Agreed, it’s only happened outside of ranked co-op 1 or 2 times for me.

I have no idea why SDS ever thought CO-OP was a good idea; freeze offs happen often enough on their own, anybody with half a brain could have predicted that this mode would be a freeze off plague.

I just don’t understand why MLB struggles with this but other sports games do not. For example 2K’s co op works perfectly fine with no freezing.

Just think....if you didnt waste 20 hours in a freeze-off, you probably could have played about 10-15 more games and definitely won a few of them.

Lmao it ain't about the win brother. I'm already maxed in the ranked program so really no benefit in playing more. It's pride at this point.

Upper left hand corner of any screen in the game. Go to your profile and I think it’s on the second tab.

sitting thirteen hours in a freeze off to achieve 1 win when in that time span could have won 10 games.

I have one freeze off against me so far this year in about 8 online games played. It was a co-op game deep into the game maybe 8th inning. They got bored of their schemes and our patience and they quit out to give us our win.
