R2 spammers an Quick Pitchers

That's how you take care of them
Bottom of second. Two outs. Down by 3. Walks the bases loaded and gives up a Grand Slam followed by ANOTHER two out home run.
5-3 win.
Yes, I'm tooting my own horn.

There is nothing wrong with quick pitching if you are a facing a fast base runner or expecting a steal. Do you want people to just give you the base? I understand your R2 complaint and agree with that, though.

Only issue I had with their quick pitching is they pitched so fast I couldn't even call time and didn't have to hit R3 to bring up the defensive alignment. Half the time I didn't even have time to move my PCI before the pitch was already in the strike zone.
I spammed the heck out of the pause button and after 3-4 pitches; it finally registered.
I don't expect them to give me the base. But I do expect the pitcher to become set.

Pitchers should need to come set or balk

I totally agree. It would solve everything!!!

I thought you were complaining about the slide step, not the actual tempo. Yeah, I am not in favor of a person quick pitching in the sense you're using it in.

Turn balks on in online play. Very easy fix to guys quick pitching.

It used to be on before. I wanna say until 17 or 18. Don’t recall why they have them on now. Had to be a reason

I don't mind a pitcher changing delivery pace, but most quick pitchers, especially like the ones OP described are the type that are already in the wind up the second the ball goes back, so you cannot pinch hit, pinch run, warm up pitchers, etc.
Unfortunately, most of the quick pitchers seem to get rewarded for this. I know most of it is on my end as a hitter, but it can be a bit cheesy at times.

The game can still play at a quick pace with balks turned on if both players skip through cut scenes. I may have said that wrong but I think folks know what I mean.

balks were never on in 16 or 17

Or have quick pitch drain more energy

Surprised the person didn’t dashboard it, they love to dashboard grand slams.

People spam cheesy windups to weaponize pace on the mound. In those situations I have no problem spamming r2 as a counter and/or pressing down on the r3 to see the defense. I queue off of my opponent. I'd rather play nice in the sandbox, but I'll adjust.
Satchell's stretch is really bad, as is Gibson's. Kimbrel's is the worst though...

I readily admit I'm a quick pitcher. Not because I'm trying to do anything to my opponent but rather because I have ADHD and like to move at a quick pace lol
If my opponent starts hitting me with some R2s then I will realize I'm speed pitching and try to slow it down a bit as I don't necessarily enjoy being super rushed at the plate either. I'm not not necessarily conscious of thought that I am doing it when pitching.

Fair enough. Sometimes an r2 is a message to chill, and if that message is received the r2 goes away. If not, that's fine too. The batter controls the pace.
