Maybe it's only me... but does anyone else ever Not finish the collection as fast as they can, cuz then The Show Packs feel pointless?
Guess that's when Set 2 collection comes in handy huh? Hmm
Well the Live Collection is "CORE" so there's that... as far as packs go I just look at those as away to fill up your inventory cheaper with the opportunity to land a big fish although the odds aren't necessarily in your favor but for the people that pull someone like Judge out of those packs they are well worthy it and make it easier to complete these collections... I think the biggest benefit of the pack is just the nostalgia of opening a real life physical pack of cards, you never know what players/cards are inside until you open the pack.
I get that. But once you've finished the Live Collection... you're just pulling to sell for stubs. Soo I'm saying is... Im not here burning thru my stubs to finish the Collection in the 1st few weeks. Cuz the chase is fun... but once it's done. I'm like.. oh. Cool.

Chipper, Ruth and Pedro seem better for me so trying to collect those cards instead of live series
Are you locking in every card right away? Or doing the Nonsellables 1st?

Last year, I tried to wait as long as I could before starting to buy missing cards to complete the Live Set.
I lasted a week.
Still going strong this year. (Pulling Trout and Judge (twice!) helped). Let's see how much longer I can last.

Nonseallables first. I only locked in a few low ones to get to Trae. Once I finish TA ill have enough cards to lock in for the first but more expensive ones. But I think Ruth or Chipper would be worth it for sure

I've been lucky this year so far..
I've pulled Trout and Ohtani. Haven't locked them in yet.
Finished AL Central to get Mauer (using Wright Capt. For Cover Squad)
Sitting at about 220k stubs too. Soo i can potentially be close to finishing the AL Collection.. -

Oh for sure. I never raced to finish the collection even before this years edition... once you complete the collection packs are still cool to get when new cards release but as far as the Live Series cards yeah it's best to not worry about the Standard packs if you already completed the collection... the only thing it would be good for is a cheaper way to get a Flashbacks/Legends pull instead of buying one of the specialty packs like "Around The World", "Welcome To My Show" and "Diamond Duos".

I'm taking my time. I locked in the Padres before Tatis comes back. Other than that, just the "cheap" teams... meaning... Pirates.

Hey Reynolds is big money now after getting supercharged...

I have completed LS, but I am just not convinced any collection is really worth it this year unless you are just someone who likes to "collect". I typically fall in that category and I am sure I will this year as well, but there are tons of great cards available everywhere. Outside of LS, I have not locked in anything other than "no sell". I think a person could have a ton of fun with this years game by just hoarding stubs and buying wanted cards off the market to build upon earned cards from programs.

First thing I did was see how many of him I had and saw that I had two... I put one up for sale almost immediately. Turns out I picked him from one of the Preorder Gold Choice packs, not sure where I got the second one from but I'm guessing one of the other shows packs I earned along the grind... might have to put him in my Ranked lineup before his week is over.

I feel like SDS cost themselves some money. So I get it you’ll have people who will buy stubs day 1. Or like me I’d wait until the first stub sale and finish my collection. This year cards are pretty cheap. I’m missing 6 cards 2.5 weeks in to complete the collection. Last year first stub sale I was missing 15. With so many 99’s honestly unless you’re a streamer or just a huge Derek Jeter fan it’s pointless to spend money.

It is really hard to know how these decisions are impacting their profits, but I could see it being the complete opposite. LS is not as expensive, but there are significantly more cards in the market at this point in the year. Many of them are also more expensive than they normally are at this point.

Sold everything I could to get Ohtani and Trout after a super lucky DeGrom pull. Getting a solid lefty closer for the pen (AL West collection) makes running the Trevor Hoffman Captain card at tier 3 a possibility.
The rest of the live series collection cards are pretty take it or leave it compared to the NS series 1 TA cards and I have no doubt that the series 2 cards will continue that trend…to be followed by series 3…but filling an actual role is priceless for my long term enjoyment.

Potentially right..
Or hoping we finish collections first, then we spend real money to get the 99s in the Duo Packs every week

I did the NL and it was a bit of a grind but not too bad since I just grinded through RTTS to sell off Diamond equipment. Got Jazz last night on the Set collection and I’m going to just collect cards in TA until I get Trae/Chipper once more Topps Now cards come out.
