I’m personally loving Co-op, Even with random players. More so with my friends:)
I agree, this is by far my favorite mode. My 12 year old son and I play together and have had a blast ( undefeated in about 10 games. Been fun)….
I agree!!! I played co op tonight for the first time ever and had an absolute blast!!! Best version of the show they’ve ever made!!

I'm really enjoying it so far. Gameplay is better than its been in a while.

Ok...but who said anything about GAMEPLAY?
This is literally posted in the forum dedicated to Diamond Dynasty and is addressing the issue with the decision to change the "power creep" of this mode, especially when it comes to actually PLAYING against other people online in RANKED.
It was an awful decision. I don't need to be told to "wait and see how it goes". And I knew it would be a bad decision before the game was released.
Looking at it now, I'm 100% convinced it was a LAST MINUTE decision/change.
It doesn't even make sense if it wasn't.
Look at all these Captain cards and other rewards for grinding...some good stuff, great content that would have kept most people very busy and active for months.
Then look at the WBC cards! LOL!
End game style 99s and 97s with ridiculous ratings.
The funniest part of all of it, is that developers claimed this would increase the VARIETY you see in lineups. LOL!!!!!
Um...they could not have been more WRONG about that.
What did you think would happen when you laid out the entire game...and then decided to release all these 99s?
Who in their right mind is really trying to get these cards?
And have you played more than 10 games of Ranked?!?!?
Because all you have to do is play like 4 or 5 and you will get a feel for what EVERY lineup looks like. 6 or more WBC cards...and maybe 1 or 2 Charisma 97/99s...maybe a Live series for Arronado or Trout or the Harper Captain card...that's about it.
The best cards available right now are what everyone is going to play. And that's it.
I play against Santander, Lindor, Murakami, Arozarena, and Kendoh pretty much EVERY game.
It sure is awesome playing mediocre MLB players with juiced ratings because they played in the WBC.
What's even more fun is Superhuman Future Stars cards that are better than some of the greatest players in MLB history.
Good times.
They ruined this mode. And without some tweaks...it will be DEAD before the 4th of July.

Yay!!! We all have 99s, how fun is this!?
(Fart noise) what a terrible decision. All incentive is gone. The live series collection has taken a back seat to praying for microtransactions.
Edit: to the trolls, I've been here longer than you. Enjoy the game when it's dead come June.
I like it more this way tbh, I prefer to go dor Trea instead of Jeter and then when he is not usable I’ll do collections for cheap.

They ruined it for YOU, if you want realistic ratings use live series cards or try online rated.

Sorry everyone doesn’t like this mode. As an offline player mostly, this year is by far my favorite year. I’d rather have endless content and decent gameplay than the slow grind for cards that become insignificant after a week. Play BR or events, completely different rosters, diverse, not god squads. All the complaints about the high cards released so fast effects 1 mode- RS and since I’d rather get a root canal without Novocain than play RS, it doesn’t bug me in the slightest.

I am also really enjoying it this year. My first year of DD was '21 and gameplay is a major improvement this year. It is related to this topic, because DD has always played differently than the other modes like franchise/postseason. DD also would always play better at the start of the year because it was not full of '99s. This year the game is already is full of 97s and 99s and is playing way better than it has been.
While it is a bit of an adjustment, I am a huge fan of this early rollout since the game is playing well. In the past you might have to wait until November to get some of the cards you really wanted to play with. I would much rather have desired cards early on during the year and during the baseball season, than get them in the Fall when I am ready for a break.

The game has been out for like 2 weeks dude, of course there won't be a ton of variety in lineups yet. Relax.

I haven’t seen anyone else with my main squad lineup:
C Mauer
1B Devers
2B Turner
3B Chipper
SS Witt Jr
LF Yelich
CF Jazz/Trout
RF Soto
DH Jimenez -
I love the new content, I've finally let go of feeling like I need every card, I can just enjoy the game, I get to use some of my favorite Cardinals early rather then waiting 6 months for a decent version of one. Yeah it will expire, but there is the wildcard and I think this content is the refresh DD desperately needed.

Totally agree with this. It's been a much more relaxed/enjoyable experience so far without that feeling of needing every single card to get decent players.
-
I don't even play this mode but I agree with op. They spoiled this mode with all these 99's from the get go. Poor decision.
-
I am on the fence here. I like the early high level "free" diamonds but then I prefer a more timed release like past games. Whales will still buy stubs to pay to win but the more casual player is ok with earning the cards normally.
I still wish they would be less pay to win though. But that's my opinion
-
I'm much happier with 23 than 22. I liked 21 despite some of the problems, but 22 was painful and I actually stopped playing for about 2 months. This year I'm enjoying most of the cards I get to use right now, and I feel the game is playing tough and I like that. I agree the captain system is strange and I'm not sure I'll ever theme-team enough to take advantage, but that's not an issue for me -- I simply might avoid the option. Further, I'm pleased to report there are no issues with multiverse switching as my pack luck is still terrible, so thank goodness for that.
-
The reason I am ok with early 92, 97, and 99's is every year, I dislike having to say goodbye to the God Squad we all have at the end. I loved RF Cutch, the 99 J-Ram, Trout, etc. LS J-Ram has been terrible for me so far, lol.
I didn't mind the steady climb to God squads in past games, but it doesn't hurt to get really good cards this early either.
Something does seem off, though. I can't put a finger on it atm. I had early access, but am moving slowly. Maybe because I play other games? -

It has turned into a stub sink. As mentioned I need a quarter of a million stubs to rent three 99 overall Cardinal cards that basically expire on July 7th. I am sure that total will just keep going up as more Cardinal cards are released, with 99's for your favorite teams being released every season.
-
The doubled down on PXP missions by even making the Topps Now players each week have a program and PXP missions. Last night I had time to play one 9 inning Vs CPU game. But because of Weekly Wonder and Topps Now mission I felt I needed to remove a bunch of my preferred cards because I needed stats with right handed hitters, colorado pitchers and the Topps Now players. Despite beating the CPU handily and having the Topps Now players do very well I am only half way to their total PXP to finish that mission, which means another 9 inning game against the CPU using players I would prefer not to use.
And we'll get to do it all over again next week when new Weekly Wonders and Topps Now cards release. And lets not forget the drawn out chore that the POTM card programs were last year. We still have that to look forward to (Blech)
I just find myself asking why I am working on trying to get a massive (for me) amount of stubs to basically rent/buy players that the game doesn't want me to use because every program has missions to earn PXP with different group of players? This is not new. It was my biggest complaint last year as well, but as I have said they seem to have kicked it up a notch by having Topps now players also have missions.
When are you going to use that theme team if every program has you earning PXP or stats with players not on the theme team?

A valid point. Pxp missions have been annoying since their inception. I also can't get over the fact that I'm constantly having to play with a bunch of cards I don't want, and soon all the cards I did want to play with will be expired.
I forgot about the super drawn out monthly programs. I can imagine how bad they will be. These TAs are taking forever and a half, so I'm betting the monthly programs will be a significant time sink. However, atleast the lightning card will be a good active player we can use.
