If you don't add a player from a pack to the lineup immediately are they gone forever?

Title is the question. I got one of the affinity packs and wasn't sure where I wanted to put Mark McGwire in my field and assumed he'd wind up on the bench. Instead I don't see him anywhere in my DD team. If you don't add a player to your lineup immediately are they gone forever?

Go to Manage Squad Tab and add them wherever you want.

No. If you don't add them at pack opening they can be added manually or, depending on how far along you are, by auto-maximizing your squad.

I think I know what you are getting at. I was a little frustrated last night. I opened a pack and got like a 95 card, lets call him Bob for now because I don't remember who he was.

I didn't elect to "add him to lineup". After I was done opening packs I went to my God Squad to add him....and he's not there. Took me awhile until I figured out that I already had "Bob" in my line-up. But it was "Bob's" 84 gold card.

So I had to completely remove Bob from my line up, then went back into all the available cards, and there is 95 Bob. I don't like this function at all compared to last year. Later in the year when I can't remember if I have a higher rated card, I guess I have to go through each player to check.

You should still be able to "see" 95 Bob, you would just have to remove 84 Bob to add him to your lineup

That's what I thought, but it wouldn't show last night until I completely remove the 84. Maybe it's me.

This is right. You can’t see the guy at all if you have another version of him in your lineup. So if you had 86 jeter at short, but wanted to replace him with 99 jeter, you wouldn’t be able to even see 99 jeter until you removed 86 jeter from your lineup

They need to fix that, 4 months from now I'll be removing every player just to check.
