Why is the Field of Dreams not in the game

There's no Field of Dreams game this year due to construction and last i knew, MLB didn't commit to one in 2024. Probably some legal stuff that won't allow it in the game this year.

Would be cool if they replaced it with the Williamsport little league game if that’s the case.

why not try to just have a random cornfield then - no need for legal anything - just a farmers field - made up for us not customized by user

I would love it if they did that and allowed the ability for players with "nicknames" to have those nicknames appear on the back of the jersey... similar to how everyone wears 42 on Jackie Robinson Day and the pink bats for Mothers Day and blue bats (I think) for Fathers Day.
I guess they would need to add "Nickname" to the programming but it would be a fun addition in my eyes.

Because SDS is very legal-ey and doesn't take chances like that. Same reason why fans have begged since the PS3 days for the Spring Training jerseys to added in. Somehow they're in the Style Guide enough for Majestic (in the past) and Nike to make jerseys for sale every year, but not for The Show.
My guess is, to my knowledge, Field of Dreams itself is owned by a private company that bought it from the old lady who owned the property. They worked with MLB to make it happen. Somebody owns that corn as well, or at least licensed it's harvesting to someone.
For whatever reason there's been a falling out and/or they want to do further construction work out there that isn't going to be ready.
Personally I've never really liked it being one game. I really think they need to try to expand the grandstand into a stacked one like in the old days for more attendance and play a full series out there once a year. Jmho. Shame it got removed, as well as the jerseys from the game. Clearly something bigger legally is going on.

There being no game at the site is a ridiculous reason to not have the stadium. There are no games at every single old stadium in 2023 yet all of them are in the game.
