In MLB The Show 22, it seemed as if each teams 1st Round pick from the 2021 draft was made as real player in the game (i.e., we couldn't change their appearance, age, etc.) but this year, it doesn't look like there are any new prospects. Have they stopped adding new, 'real' prospects to the game? I was hoping to see Jackson Holliday, Druw Jones, Tink Hence, Elly de la Cruz, etc.

They barely added any face scans for any player this year. Suwinski on the Pirates is one of the only ones I’ve found to be new. Felix Bautista is still a editable player and he’s the highest rated player in the orioles.

I have a feeling the player has to be on the 40-Man Roster now to be in the game, where as in years past (prior to 2022) they had to make their MLB debut. If they aren't on 40-Man best bet to see them in the game is most likely as a Prospects card and/or Future Stars card... I wouldn't expect to see a Live Series for those guys until they get added to 40-Man.

That makes sense... but wonder what changed from 2022 to 2023? I'm a Cardinals fan and I think each of their Top 10 Prospects (by MLB.com) had face scans, regardless of 40-man status. Seems like a big change, especially for those who are Franchise mode fans.

Okay that I was unaware of as I only really follow the top Mets prospects and all were in DD albeit as commons and bronzes (Mauricio, Alvarez, Baty and Veintos and maybe a few others) but I figured all of them were on the Mets 40-Man and then Alvarez and Baty both got Future Stars with Alvarez also having a Prospects card as well.

Yea, for example, Michael McGreevy, Masyn Winn, Alec Burleson, Nolan Gorman, etc. were all in the game with face scans, outside of DD, when last year's game was released. None of them were on the 40-man to start the season, and some still aren't and yet they're in this year's game. Just very confused/disappointed by the decision to not add more big name prospects. Maybe the Minor League Season has to begin before they can release the scans of non 40-man guys, because technically they're not employed until then, since they're 'seasonal employees'?

It’s not just the prospects it’s players who have a played last year who don’t have facescans. Wesneski, Bautista, even a player like mark leiter who has been scanned into previous versions of the game is still a created player. They just were lazy this year and didn’t care.

There’s potentially a chance they add some in the roster update but it’s never been released without this many face scans for new players ever before. Usually once players play in the league they get scans, but not this year. Why would they get new prospects if they can’t even get current major leaguers scans in the game?
