Game seems to run really smooth.
Co-Op Ranked-played twice and froze twice
Content is overwhelmingI have no issues in Conquest. I have seen posts that say otherwise.
I don't care for the hitting engine. Good timing on swings inside the inner PCI are usually outs for me. I haven't hit one HR with the ball outside of the PCI which is good. Play mostly on AS or HOF.
Showdowns (WBC) say its on Veteran but the feedback and then size of the inner PCI say otherwise.
I'm sure I'm missing something. I'm so close to getting 97 Biggio (first pick) can't wait. I want Bench and MadBum next. LOL

i love the fielding change.
Oh, I forgot that. I love this. Even when I fling the ball into the dugout to lose a CQ game...

The first 24 hours or so, it did seem slow to me. Since then, no issues (other than the super aggressive hexes some are seeing).

Trying to finish this US Conquest then im gonna do the Mulder mini-seasons. By the time im done with all that, i should have enough stubs to finish a few collections then field a good team in RS.
-
great to hear gents - i am going to jump into this tomorrow night - any advice on what to do first ?
-
I've got to be honest about one thing...I can't stand the new Perfect/Perfect sound the bat makes....It sounds like a broken bat

Not sure if this is correct but this is what I have done. Do some of the WBC momements. This will get you some free 90s to add to the team. Then I jumped into TA conquests with those new WBC players. You can knock out the PXP missions for those guys which can get you 95 overall WBC players and more PXP missions. Completing the conquest get your a nice headstart on TA, also get you a couple of team captains and henchmen so you can continue PXP grinding. IF I was event decent at H2h I would try the event but there is so much offline content, it is keeping me busy. I easily could have had all Conquests maps done and WBC program complete by now but I got caught up in flipping for Live Series sets. Already have AL Central done.

Probably do the WBC program. You can get several diamond players from that.
-
thank you so much guys - i have screenshotted what you said and will do that - appreciate your help - i'd rather have an all diamond squad before jumping into RS

I've actually jumped into RS earlier this year as they've made it like the BR mission-based program. You can get to the WS reward pretty quickly.

Does anyone know if PS5 is running on 60hz or 120hz like it should? I haven't checked it yet.

After one weekend, I'm enjoying it.
- Content - a little overwhelming, but I won't complain about that.
- Seasons/Sets/Captains - I'm liking the change up this year. Again, it's a little overwhelming trying to decide which Captains/team builds to focus on. For me, by the time I get to the end of Season 1, I'll be looking forward to Season 2.
- Mini-Seasons - I haven't dived into this yet. Curious to hear your thoughts.
- Gameplay - I'm enjoying hitting this year. That said... I'm not hitting as well, which is fine with me. I haven't noticed the way-off-center PCI hits from last year. When I square it up, it's great. When I don't, the result is usually bad. Even with my WBC build, which is very solid, I'm getting lots of singles and doubles. When I swing at balls in the dirt or way outside the zone, I miss them. You know... normal.
- Online - I've played 4 RS games and a few event games. I haven't been disconnected. I had a couple of disconnects while trying to enter a game, but I'm not going to complain about that.
So... that's me. Enjoying it a lot. You?
My take:
-
Content: yes it is a little overwhelming. But I see what they're trying to accomplish.
-
Seasons/Sets/Captain's: Now that I know how to set my lineup (thanks to @dap1234567890_MLBTS) I like this aspect. Just wish you could have more than 4 lineups saved.
-
Mini Seasons: Same. Haven't played yet.
-
Gameplay: I'm enjoying the game ay even though it seems harder for me to hit this year. Don't know if it's because I was dependent on the wind; but a lot of hard hit balls (not Perfect/Perfect) seem to die at the warning track. Last year I could put up 9+ runs a game (Conquest on Rookie) and this year I'm scraping by with 2 run games.
-
Online play: Haven't touched this yet. I wanted to go strictly offline this year and dabble in BR and maybe Events when all offline content was finished. May miss the current Event and the current BR Program because I'm nowhere near completing the offline content.
-
Live Series: They seem to be cheaper, minus a few whales, that previous years. Not sure if that will change once the game actually drops on the 28th and more people are playing.
-
Servers: I haven't had any issues yet, knock on wood, but we'll see once the game officially drops on the 28th and more people are playing.
Now for the negatives.
No wind in offline games. As someone stated in another thread; no wind at a baseball game is like only selling NA beer. At least give the option for offline modes to turn it off/on. Don't need it for online play.
Mission Progress Tracking Tab: Still nothing from SDS on why they took this out of last gen consoles. But with PXP Missions being a big part of the game; it would be nice for us PS4 users to be able to see our progress without having to enter/exit multiple programs.
Pitcher stamina in Conquest (possibly BR). Please for the love of God fix this. If you want us to get 600 PXP (Why was it increased by 100 this year) with a pitcher, and we want to try for it in Conquest, please stop the pitcher from going in the red after 10-12 pitches. When that happens you either have to replace them (and only get 1 inning) or you have to hope they don't get hammered if you leave them in. Yes I know I can play a 9 inning Play vs CPU game and get the 600 XP in one game. But until I finish all the Conquest maps; playing a 9 inning CPU game doesn't work for me.
Interaction between the Community and the Devs: We have a new Community Manager; yet nothing has been said about some of the PXP not calculating correctly issues, nothing about getting a cool down penalty when the game freezes during a Ranked Co-Op game and you're forced to dashboard unless you want to sit there and play digital chicken.
I don't expect daily interaction. But maybe some posts here and there saying that the devs are aware of the issues and are looking into them.
Twitch Drops: Nothing from the devs about people, including myself, that are missing Twitch Drops. Again, you don't need to reply to every post. Just pin something stating that you are aware of the issue and researching it.
Graphics: Not sure if it because I'm still on a PS4 but the graphics/gameplay is a little skippy during batter walk-ups, in-between pitches, and also sometimes when a ball is hit. It's like you're constantly playing at Kaufman Stadium and the waterfall in center field is causing frame rate issues or how FOD Stadium was pre-patch last year.
Can't think of anything else right now.

Personally what i did was go through the TA and just did all the moments. You get a gold/diamond choice pack for those. After i did all those, i went to the WBC program, knocked out those moments and then the showdown.
All the cards i had unlocked, i put a team together and did the WBC conquest....then moved on to the TA conquests and completing all the henchmen missions.
Right now, im playing the US Conquest with a team full of captains and 2 henchmen, trying to get their missions done. By the time im done with this map, ill finish a few collections then do something i havent done in almost 4 years. Play ranked.

I did all the moments WBC, TA, The starter and the Negro league stuff. Then do showdowns. If you’re efficient you can get that done in a few hours this will give you a bunch of great cards. Then conquests events whatever to start getting that PXP. OH! First you should get the free derick jeter lol
-
I'm liking most stuff but batting and pitching clutch should kick in when a runner is on third not second. They thought captains would make live series usable, it doesn't because of clutch.
-
Enjoying the game so far.
No complaints w the amount of content so far!
Loved the Negro Leagues storylines!!! They need to re-consider and do more of it for THIS year! Bob Kendrick is awesome.
Gameplay - I noticed a new animation w Diamond fielding 1B Buck O’Neil doing the splits! Have to say, that’s such a baseball thing that has never actually been in The Show game until now!
Hitting - seems like they nerfed the Perfect / Perfects abiut this year. I’m noticing more of them going for routine fly balls. I just hit 2 of them - w POWER Swing even, and they went for routine fly outs. - in the same WBC moment I’m trying to complete! Haha -

For those that haven't tried mini seasons yet, each team has their own stadium now,and they look awesome.
