So will guys who we know are going to be out for a good while (Diaz, Rodon, Montas, etc) be free agents when the game comes out next week?
-
doubt we will see Harper or Tatis in the FA pool, don't know how they are handling that but past experiences show that they don't like putting diamonds in the FA pool

@Rocketfish5151 @PAinPA_PSN recent injuries won't make it into the FA pool until the player is taken off the 40 man roster.
Harper, Diaz, Rondon, and Montas will probably be on their prospective teams until they are taken off the 40 man roster.
If Tatis can't be placed on the Padres 40 man Opening Day roster; he SHOULD be in the Fa collection, like he is in 22. Pretty sure they can't produce a card if the player isn't on the roster.
Hence, Machado will probably be the Gatekeep for SDs LS Collection. And if so, it will be an expensive collection as people will be hurting to complete it before Tatis is back on the team.
Also, I personally think anyone that has been suspended shouldn't start out as a Diamond.
And if he is still classified as suspended; he may not even be in the game right away as suspended players can't be put into packs.

I had thought the Phils put Harper on the 60day which would have removed him from the 40man, but apparently they never did, so he most likely will be in the Phils collection to start.
Tatis isn't anywhere, so I d think he won't be in game till a roster update.(SD collect will be brutal), interested to see what they do with Diaz and the Mets. -

Yeah I imagine he’ll be in after the first or second roster update. He’s due to return April 20th and I agree with you. Manny will be more expensive early on, possibly Soto too as people will try to finish the Padres before Tatis comes back.
With that said, how high can Tatis reasonably be when he returns? I admit, the LS often baffles me (see Kirby Yates as a diamond when he didn’t pitch for over 2 years). Apparently they don’t mess with injuries or suspensions when rating so theoretically he should be however high he was to start last season (92?) but that does seem odd to me.

SDS will leave superstar diamonds on the 40 man unless teams force their hand and use all their roster spots on MLB players.
For example, as long as the Yankees keep Jhony Brito down on the farm and don't promote him, Rodon will stay on the Yankees 40.

Even for suspended players? I would assume that would only be for injured players. This why they finally took Tatia out of the LS Collection this past year.
