Ok, so here me out. Some people are complaining about more 99s being available Day 1.

But are we sure that these will be actually 99s and not lower rates cards, 78-80 for example, that have their attributes inflated because they're attached to a Captain?

Like how Supercharged cards this year were implemented.

You had a player who was a 78 OVR but was boosted because they were supercharged.

They said '99 card's, not 'cards that are boosted to a 99'.

If the cards in question are just the result of an expiring supercharge, there will be riots.

Hahahahaha we do tend to revolt at these types of provocations. I really don’t think the available 99s are gonna shift the dynamic badly. I think it’ll be nice having a card you like the whole season. I love tracking stats (I definitely like that update on MS 2.0). So when I get my favorite 99s it’ll be nice to keep them around all year. But I imagine it’ll be a balanced release rather than the insane barrage at the end.

This pitch clock is a trip. It's like the game is on fast forward.

Definitely agree there. Nothing sucks more in this game than getting a card you been grinding for only to have it become irrelevant a few days later

What's irrelevant mean? That there is a better card that you gotta have? Slow n steady boss. Don't let the shiny new cards distract you.

Nothing better than sending..."GG. You got lots of pretty cards" after a tough win against a stacked lineup.

    Hahaha,

Here is a good example. I really enjoyed the 2nd half Gary Carter early on. When the 99 came out, I swapped it thinking it would be better and for some reason I couldn’t hit as well. Weird. I finally got over my 99 addiction and used the 2nd half again. I’m in a program. Baby steps.

But usually the newer card would have better attributes which should play better.

I think some of that can just be explained by 2nd Half Carter being a top option when he came out and pitching was meh, 99 Carter came out and he faced tough pitching and wasn't really a top option with who was out there.

Unfortunately, your "favorite 99s" from Set 1 may not be allowed on your RS roster after Season 2. This is a BIG L.

Actually Set 1 cards will still be viable until season 3 from what they said.

    Season 1 - Set 1

    Season 2 - Set 1 and 2 + Wildcard

    Season 3 - Set 2 and 3 + Wildcard

    Season 1 - Set 1

    Season 2 - Set 1 and 2 + Wildcard

    Season 3 - Set 2 and 3 + Wildcard

Exactly, all of this for one small change- no set 1 cards in season 3.

And with the Wildcard + Captain perks, you can still use your favorite from Set 1

I think maybe we need to look at what pstive changes this can result in

    1. POTM lighting card will now be a 99 starting in April

    2. 99s have to be released in other ways so does the XP reward path come back as well.

    3. Core cards should help cards keep value especially into season 3 and beyond

    4. Hopefully no more "why didn't that guy get a 99" as they should be getting them out.

Alot is unknown still but acting like the sky is falling and DD is ruin seems like an overreaction at this point

The new pitching clock won't have anything to do with people quick pitching online.

It will probably affect offline play more, as with online play a human controlled pitcher will still start to pitch as it does now.

Offline vs the CPU you can literally put down the controller, when you pitching, and walk away from the game and not worry about the game forcing you to pitch. With the pitch clock; it should be like an online game where after 15-20 your player will start his release just like it's done online.

You'll still have quick pitchers online; but the pitch clock won't be an excuse as why they're quick pitching you.

I could even see this being implemented mainly in a mode like Franchise or MTO.

It may still be implemented in DD H2H but without actually timing it, I bet, your controlled pitcher will start to windup way before the 15-20 sec timeframe.

I'm not crazy about 99s so early but as long as they keep it within reason, like maybe only two or three of them available in set one, then I don't think it'll be that big of a deal.
