Does SDS run some kind of program on the market that buys and sells card automatically?
I have a hard time believing that real people are buying all my cards as fast as they are selling.
I don't see enough people still playing for this to be really happening. I just remember a few years ago when we needed to buy thousand's of hats and stuff. I thought there were card dumps back then.
-
I mean, is it out of the realm of possibility? Definitely not but when I was still playing I would put in at least 1000 orders a day and that’s on the low side. Again tho, with a company looking to make money anything is possible.

I personally believe they'd have to have something like that.
Cards are moving too fast to think otherwise.

I tend to agree with you. Especially with the huge margins. If true, it’s a bummer cause It’s not really our savvy and flipping skill that’s helping us generate stubs. It is cool that they’ve installed a way for NMS players to earn the necessary capital to buy any and all cards. I hope it’s not true but I suspect it is.
-
I've felt this way for a while. Who would buy equipment at the rate it sells? I think they must have a bot that buys cards.
-
I haven’t played in a little over a month or two. Hopefully this isn’t the case but from the comments it sounds like it is. I remember at the beginning of the year the margins were razor thin to where it was hard to make stubs early.
-
Eh maybe, but we still have a decent amount of people playing, just look at the Jazz p1s, and I've yet to see a ranked lineup with him (played 6 games), so there are some left

You’re not lying. I spent way too much time flipping for hardly anything early on. It didn’t really open up until maybe July? But once it did, boy did it. I don’t necessarily think it’s always at work and the whole market is rigged. But I don’t see how it takes me 2 mins to find a BR opponent and the same amount of time to sell a card for almost twice what I paid. Hardly anyone is playing now.

I can't believe that many people are buying common and bronze cards at 900+ stubs

Ah, I thought you were just referring to diamonds, that makes more sense

100% Sds manipulates the markets to some degree

I don't know if I'd call it manipulating. Without some kind of backend system that sells and buys cards automatically eventually the market would die if not enough people were playing to sustain it.
They definitely control the market one way or another

I'm still playing '19 and the market is still moving. It's all out of whack (sometimes silver equipment will sell for like 7000) but I wondered the same thing. It's hard to believe that many people are still playing let alone selling on '19.
Sometimes I will log in and it will say 12 items sold

It will be the same this year. It's honestly yhe biggest deterrent for me when considering buying. There are multiple factors as to why the market was bad and will be bad again.
- Too many players playing now that Xbox users have been given the game for free.
- The app makes it too easy to post 50 cards at a time.
- The kids have no patience and kill any and all margins in order to sell there card asap.
- That website that shows which cards have the best margins has killed flipping.
- People last year instead of posting 10 sell orders at 400 stubs each would post rhe 400, 395, 392, 388, 375... idk why, but I saw it happen multiple times.
- And lastly, youtubers.
The days of flipping cards from the beginning of the games cycle are dead. Sds loves it tho. Every year the show goes further from what made it great and closer to a madden-fortnite cartoony mess.
Can't wait for the new game to come out tho lol

It’s still really easy to flip, I just had to wait it out last year but I ended up getting ever legend and flashback card funded by flipping and gameplay.
But all your observations are totally accurate. The first few months were super frustrating on the market and those were all contributing factors.

I'm guessing that ChatGPT has become sentient and decided to take a shot at MLBTS. It opened an account and has been working the market.

100%. I was frustrated for the first month or so, but then flipping became pretty easy. I'd put in a ton of orders at QS prices before bed, wake up, then sell them all off. Rinse and repeat. I just took my time.

As an experiment I jumped back into 19 and tried to do some flipping, no luck. I bought a few items at QS and had no responses. I have been enjoying the game though and probably will keep playing until 23 releases, just going back to 22 for the occasional online game.
I like the simpler version of Zone hitting and since there's no pinpoint pitching, which I haven't been able to master yet, I've been playing meter which I've had good results with. Also enjoy playing with the legends who aren't in the current game.

Ya. I can't find an online game to play. I connect with opponent and then it says connection to opponent lost. I'm down to play sometime. Besides all the line outs I like 19. No outlier, anchor etc. I just play Franchise. Keep trying with the market. I don't really work the market just sell all my remaining cards. I have too many lol. Then buy packs for fun. Some golds go for 4k for like a week or so.
I love how the market goes crazy. Trout still goes for above 80k. So it's still active. I remember I got a gold bat flip animation...it was listed for like 29k...lol

They probabally do. Because in the past people would buy up cards at end of season when market crashed and then resell for rediculous amounts. Preventing people from finishing live collection while they dumped game for Madden just to be a the bag feminine lower abdominal cleaning item comes in.
