Mantle Collection question on rookie program

You can get a lot of rookie cards in the BR program. The trick is to fulfill the missions and get the points rather than going 12-0.

I see that some of the rookie program cards are around 2500 or 5000 stubs but the wait list is like 500/600 back.
Is this the only way to get these cards? I have to wait until my turn comes up?
How fast do these go? If i'm 600 in line how long will that take or just forget about it.
Don’t do the ones with the big wait list. If it’s only 4 or 5, go ahead and put a buy order in. I bought almost 20 rookie cards in one day. They will go through just be patient.

However with being said, I was chasing Rollins, not Mantle. I won’t be able to get Mantle.
-
You can knock out a BR program in a couple days.
-
ok thanks. i dont play online but will do the BR program.
Actually I have 2 more to go for Rollins too. I have 3.2 million stubs. I don't know if that will be enough to buy everyone for Mantle.

I don't play online either - well, I didn't until BR. Now, I'm doing RS for the 250 innings. I've already got 3 Pennant Races packs (plus two from last season) and I am one inning away from getting my first WS pack.
I'm not worrying about the wins and losses, just the innings. Once I hit 250, I'll move on to the Moonshot event and see how many of those packs I can get. I'll eventually get Mantle.

thats one of my holdbacks too for not doing RS. the record. i know it's stupid, but i guess it goes back to when i was in school trying not to get bad grades. I guess I should try it. I play offline casual and ppl say i'm pretty good to at least get to 400/500 level.

Don’t even look at the W/L record. It’s hard on the ego losing so many games, but I get through it by focusing on the cardsI can get.
If you want my BR and/or RS spreadsheets to give you an idea of what cards you need to take, send me a PM. I have a Moonshot one too, but I haven’t used it yet, so I’m not sure how helpful it is.

I tried some BR games, like 5. I think i went 2-3 but it was no fun. Felt more like a chore to play. Maybe I'll try it another time.

Just think about it for a minute. I’m not great online either but in about 10 entries I got to 103 points and got 99 Trout. So essentially I paid $15K for him instead of $1M

There were a lot of times I went 0-2. Don't worry about it, though. You'll make up the stubs easily. Just remember that when you draft, take players that complete the missions. Once you hit 100 points, you don't need to do any more because that's the end of the special packs.
It seems backward but you'll get the 100 points pretty quickly. I think I had about 20 entries to get mine.
Hang in there and persevere.

And that’s not including the other big diamonds you get along the way. It’s probably worth about 2 million.

So are you a fan of BR now?

Played tonight and had a lot of more fun with it. I think I went 3-3 but all games were close and the other player played baseball rules. no funny business.
I'm no way gonna win 12 in a row but how do I get to get the rewards for programs? Keep Playing? It seems like a lot of the missions will take a long time to complete.

You definitely don’t need to win 12 in a row, I think the most I’ve ever won is 4 or 5 in a row.
Look at the various missions. When you draft, you get 3 players (at least) that have player XP missions. Pitchers are faster but they all add up. There are also stat missions like 15,000 total pxp or 100 TB- that applies to your whole team. All of those add up. Don’t be afraid to redraft. Stubs are meaningless at this point if you have 3.5 M. You will get back so much more.

Just keep track of the missions you need to complete and then draft accordingly. Not every round will give you a card to help you progress, but do what you can. Pitching missions require certain cards, so draft those pitchers. Same with hitting missions. You'll get more mileage out of the repeatable missions because any card you draft to help those along counts, and as @Ericulous1_PSN said, pitchers get more PXP than hitters.
That's why I made a spreadsheet...to keep track and I could refer to it as I drafted.

I played it just to get Trout. I'm not much of a fan playing with Bronze and Silver players though LOL

Hahahaha. Same.

I did BR and got all the rookies I needed. Now for the other programs I have to finish, should I keep playing BR and those will come up as pack rewards?
As for Trout, should I get him and sell for $1million or go pick a card that I need to complete mantle?

You only need to get 100 points to get all of the special packs. After that, do ranked seasons. By the time you hit 250 innings, you will have received two rewind pennant and two rewind World Series packs. You get two picks from each pack. There is also Moonshot which has a lot of the special cards needed for the collections, plus very expensive cards you can keep or sell (like Nolan Ryan). You get your first pack at 5 wins (accumulative, not consecutive) and then more packs down the reward path. There are two picks from those packs too. This is how I got Mantle last night.
As for which cards to pick, ask yourself..."do I want this card more than Mantle?" In my case, when I got to my last pack, the cards I needed weren't in that pack, so I took Trout and he plays LF next to Mantle).
Keep track of how many cards you need by series and which tickets you need to finish to answer if you should keep going to get the rest of the special packs (I love my spreadsheets for this).
