At least from a PR perspective, Steve could be in for a rough time ahead. NY fans and the NY media don’t shy away from their opinions. Every time Correa goes on the IL for the entirety of that contract, the fans and press are going to let him have it.
Correa already has a bit of a “stink” attached to him from the Astros scandal, not to mention how he handled the Minnesota contract. I’m a Sox fan so I couldn’t care less about the Twins’ feelings, but even I thought he was classless. After saying multiple times throughout the season that he didn’t intend to opt out (which everyone knew was a lie), he made a very selfish showing in the last month of the season by saying the Twins just needed to pay him more.
"When I go to the mall and I go to the Dior store and I want something, I get it. I ask how much it costs and I buy it," he told reporters. "So if you really want something, you just go get it. I'm the product here, so if they want my product, they just gotta come get it."
Again, that quote was BEFORE he opted out and there was still a few weeks of baseball left. No class whatsoever.

I’m not saying Correa is a great guy but definitely a good player. Also even with the reports about the medical issues and everything I’ve seen and heard nothing but love for this move from other Mets fans. Also he will be playing 3rd base not shortstop. To be clear I’m not trying to imply there is no risk in this deal, I was just trying to say it was ignorant for the guy to say the Mets are giving out dumb contracts when the Correa one is the only one they gave out you could even argue for not being good.

Defend the Mets all you want, but you know that Giants fans were angry to the hilt right after the word came that we lost him. Not so much now. I thought it a little suspicious that Boras ran a little so quickly to the Mets and now we know why. If the Mets sign Correas, his entire contract will be a pins-and-needles affair for the team and their fans. His rep is tarnished.

I don’t really know any Giants fans so I honestly have no idea how they feel about the Correa deal falling through so I’ll take your word for it. Honestly if the deal is signed as is yah, I would think it was pretty dumb. However if they restructure the contract which it sounds like they are trying to do with some opt outs or other kind of insurance like they did with David Wrights deal years ago I would have no problem. At that point if he’s good, great, if not then we have all our prospects left and will have some sort of insurance policy in place.

What Bauer's guilty of is legendary stupidity and hubris. People with money and status like him have access to taboo stuff that normal people don't -- in this case, having rough --- with a random woman you just met. You think she would do that with some good-looking nobody off the street?
