Ranked innings

How do you play 4.5 innings in ranked and only get credit for 3 innings? The game concluded in the bottom of the 5th inning and that somehow rewards 3 innings played. If these innings can’t even be added correctly grinding for randy is officially beyond ridiculous.

If you take out a pitcher in the middle of an innings, that inning doesn't count

Also, if the inning ended before the third out, no inning pitched awarded...
And the biggest of them all is that it only counts the half innings that you pitch (counts those half innings as whole innings) and does not count half innings that you are batting...
So, if you were the away team and in one of those innings you had switched pitchers after the first out was made and before the third out was made, and someone quits before three outs were made in the bottom of the fifth inning, you would only receive credit for 3 innings and not 4 or 5 innings.

Thanks for clarifying guys. I get not completing a full inning but not getting credit after a pitching change blows my mind because we are still playing the inning out. Makes me just want to quit out if and when a pitching change is made mid inning from here on out.

Why would you quit? Just don't replace your pitcher until the beginning of the next inning.

i hear you completely - why would they not account for this makes no sense at all

Sometimes you have to make a pitching change mid inning if he is getting shelled. Having to wait until the next inning is often way too late. The fact this doesn’t count towards innings pitched is simply poor programming that makes no logical sense.
