My first major year in DD was in 17 the show, the Astros won that year and I remember you could actually use the ticket vouchers to get extra packs if you guessed the winners of each series. They won it all and now that it’s the end and the Astros won again, I can’t think of a better time to end it. Sorry if I offended any of you or complained too hard. But I’m truly happy.

Are you the trash can guy?

There are some guys who had great years that year. Correa I think was the biggest benefactor in the cheating batted 315 that year. I actually wouldn't be suprised if they cheated in 2019 pretty much everyone had career years after then and then tanked Bregman, Springer, Gurriel

He hit better on the road but okay! Another hater mad his team lost.

You don't think the trash can guy traveled with the team.

It is one thing for a pitcher to tip his pitches or for a team to figure out the signs for base stealing. Hell Rickey Henderson knew when a pitcher was going to throw home or try to pick off but its because he watched the pitcher and studied them. Studying a guys patterns is one things knowing when a breaking ball or a fastball is coming is down right cheatings.

Even if every team was cheating that post season. Only one to have something come out is the Astros so they are the poster child for cheating.

Nope because they concluded there was no evidence of cheating on the road. So no. And actually the Yankees and Red Sox have both been fined for cheating but yet here you are talking about the Astros, weird.

The Red Sox and Yankees had a smart watch. Astros had multiple coaches and managers and a guy banging a trash can in the stands.

Uh no, look up the 2018 Red Sox and the Yankees letter and come back to me when you actually do research.

You failed to mention that Beltran and Cora were related to those other teams when they were caught. Coincidence? I think not.

You just proved my point by saying that.

Guess what, yankees didn't win the WS in the years they got caught. Boston didn't cheat in the playoffs in 2018. And they definitely weren't as detailed as the stros were in 2017.

You actually can’t find footage of the Astros cheating in the playoffs either so what’s your point?

They moved to the buzzer. Why did they removed the monitor off the wall and make it portable during the playoffs? what's your point?

Literally none of that ever happened, you’re literally just making stuff up now.

yeah, nothing to see here in the 2017 playoffs LOL!!!

    https://www.barstoolsports.com/blog/1505551/the-houston-astros-homeroad-splits-during-the-2017-postseason-are-laugh-out-loud-funny-and-you-might-need-to-take-away-their-title

You could say the same about the Phillies this year too. Doesn’t change the fact there’s no actual footage. But you keep being delusional about your 2017 and 2022 champs.

Did the Astros really win it in ‘17? 🤔

lol negative. A lot of those guys had career years and just dropped off the next. Wonder why?

It’s not even true of any of them other than Correa. Altuve had the same OPS+ in ‘22 that he had in ‘17 and has been consistently great every season other than ‘20. Bregman was better in OPS+ in ‘18, ‘19, and ‘22 than he was in ‘17. Springer was as good or better in OPS+ in ‘19,’20, and ‘21 than he was in ‘17. Yuli’s career year was in ‘21. So which guys are you talking about? If it’s just Correa, say it. You know who has been absolutely terrible since the league put an official in every teams video room? Bellinger. This dude has fallen off more than any ‘17 Astro.

Don't bother arguing with an idiot. Probably a flat earther too.

I'm going to enjoy this year's world series victory. Toughest series was against Seattle (no offense Philly).

2017 can live rent free in his head. Plenty of space there.

LOL why are you using guys I didn't even mention? You should look at the other replies of mine in this thread if you want to know what I think about it all. And maybe you can explain the home/away splits in the playoffs, since no other Astros fan can. Bellinger has never been a great hitter. Even in the minors. So why even talk about a guy who had one good year in average? That's like saying Andruw Jones cheated when he hit .300 in 2000.

I never mentioned them cheating this year. Glad they won it since I don't like the phillies. But 2017 is different. Numbers don't lie. Neither did the investigation, since the players had immunity.

Numbers don't lie. Outside of Marwin, there was no improvement. It's been proven numerous times by numerous outlets that the numbers didn't improve their performance.

And there's been ZERO proof about buzzers. That's a Jomboy conspiracy theory. Altuve and Buzzers is Epstein and suicide.

Houston players that year must have had some crazy active quirks such as sign stealer and mind reader.

They did. Sign stealing was a team quirk. How else did Marwin Gonzalez hit over .300 and not strike out 100+? Correa/Reddick hitting over .300. Unrealistic numbers for them at the time...or career.

Probably the most uneducated reply in this thread.

Any 5 minutes of research will show you that home/away splits for the entire team (outside of Marwin) were negligible.

How's Jomboy's dictate? (Word choice is by design)

They genuinely don’t think for themselves or do any other research, they probably also don’t know most of the playoff teams that year we’re doing some form of sign stealing.

Sign stealing has always been around but the way the Astros did it was cheating. The 2017 WS will always be tainted because of it.

Oh so they cheated better than the teams that also cheated. Good moral compass there. Still your 2017 and 2022 world champions. Like I said multiple players have came out and defended them on top of other teams being caught as well. Y’all really mad the Astros leveled the playing field

Where is your proof other teams cheated, or and got caught cheating, The Fact is the ASTROS got caught and all I said is it tainted the WS. It is like those people who do not accept Bonds as the HR King. It is what it is at this point. You can continue to make excuses all you want but the Fact is they got caught and the player's got off with no punishment at all. I get players cheat and have been forever. The players who get caught there is consequences but not for the Astros players. The commissioner is a piece of ****

Still champs and still beat cheaters that cheated as well. As far as I see it game was even. Now if they ruined

And still your 2017 and 2022 World Series champions the Houston Astros. Get over it.

Here is the bottom line, An ex player came out and said the Astros cheated in 2017, The players admitted to cheating. The Commissioner gave players immunity which should have never happened, All because he wanted it to go away fast. The players involved should have been banned from baseball just like the 1919 black sox and pete rose IMO.

To be fair the everyone else argument keeps getting better with all these current and former players speaking out on it. Just weird no one wants to acknowledge it.

Let me ask you something, lets say a group was bullying someone and you joined in, somehow your mother found out and punished you, would you tell her "Well everyone else was doing it to!", do you think she would have accepted that as a good answer?

Players can speak out all they want but it does not change the fact the Astros got caught cheating in 2017 and it tainted that WS.

Don't bother arguing with an idiot. Probably a flat earther too.

I'm going to enjoy this year's world series victory. Toughest series was against Seattle (no offense Philly).

2017 can live rent free in his head. Plenty of space there.

And they didn’t, if they were banned 80-90% of the league would’ve been banned.

80 to 90 of the league did not get caught cheating in the WS did they or at all,.

Ah so it’s not cheating if you don’t get caught. Got it.

Why can't you just admit the Astros cheated and got caught. What is so hard about accepting that fact.

Nobody and I mean nobody didn’t say they were dude lol. Only thing I questioned was actual video evidence of it in the postseason and the fact that other teams were doing the same thing of not close to what they were doing. I literally never denied they did it you goof.

It’s a legit ring since they most likely played against teams who did similar. If it was just them sure it’s tainted, but it wasn’t.
