They better give us cards for the two MVPs in each CS series. Tired of all this loser participation trophy bs. Give the teams who've won the cards they deserve. That is all.
-
They are giving the cards after each team is eliminated to avoid giving 2 cards if Pena or Harper win WS MVP too. These aren't participation trophy cards lmao. Everyone that has performed well for the Phillies and Astros will get their due

This ^ It absolutely makes sense to release the losers cards first because you know they won't ball out later because they are eliminated.
And they kind of are participation trophy cards, those players who got cards participated in the postseason, and did well, thus they get cards.
-
They ran into this exact problem in 2019 when they gave Strasberg a mid-range diamond for his WC relief appearance only to watch him turn around and win WSMVP.
-
Give me Harper

I get that Astros and Phillies fans want their cards. You'll get them in 2 weeks. And they will be for all 4 rounds. Look what they did for the DS. They gave the 4 eliminated teams cards for both the DS and WC. So, the Astros will get cards for 3 rounds and the Phillies for all 4.

I thought the same thing. Then realized the Philies played an extra round because of the WC series lol.

Idk. They still played well enough on the big stage. I consider a participation trophy card to be whoever gets the finest for the Tigers, Rockies, Royals, A's lol

Man what did Bobby Witt Jr or C.J. Cron ever do to you

Nothing in particular, but I just don't like every team having a finest. Both Witt and Cron were barely above league average players. Finest should be reserved for the actual finest of the year

Witt's wrc+ was only just above average, but a rookie who comes out and hits 20 home runs and 30 steals deserves a finest imo

So you are saying every 3rd or 4th place Rookie of the year finisher shot get a finest 99 card? I like Witt but the only impressive think about 20 homeruns and 30 steals anymore is the steals. Finest cards for bad teams are almost always participation trophy 99s. I respect your opinion though I just feel differently

I understand, but this is a video game, and tons of people are in love with Bobby Witt Jr in RL, I know in the RL card market his stuff is hot. They want to enjoy a good Witt card. I'm not saying Witt came up and became Babe Ruth, but I wouldn't rate him getting a finest as a participation trophy, that is reserved for anyone who is on the Tigers.

Hahahaha, I wish I was being clever but yeah, I just meant the Phillies will have played 4 rounds and the Astros 3.
I do hope the Phillies win but I'm not holding my breath.
