Widow conquest map is VERY aggressive

I thought this was another very easy conquest map. Played nothing higher than Vet and used Topps Now players for most of the map to help with the September program.
Finished in one day and bought and sold Gibson so I could get closer to completion for Rollins. -

I've noticed the CPU has been far more aggressive the last few programs
Was this map as tough (with simulation) as the ones from this past program?
For me yes, Guardians especially, they were winning simulations were i was up 20 to 5. They also took 2 of my strongholds.
I wonder why they made the simulations so much more aggressive/ difficult since last program. Is it because of all the whining they heard from people who thought the extreme conquest wasn’t “extreme” enough?
It could be because it's worth 45XP and SDS wants this map to take awhile
This one is only 30K, right? I haven’t been on the console yet.

The showdown will be worth 30k XP. Got to 240kXP yesterday thanks to everthing.Really, I better get it done then! Wow, that’s pretty good 240K. The beginning is always when all the things to gain chunks of XP are available at once.

Ha! It was our Pit/Bernard mix this time. I could see it in his face that he couldn't tell if he should bring me the cone of shame, get a priest or bury me.
He's used to his middle names, F..., GD... but not while twitching and on the verge of swallowing my tongue.
Outside of that, yes, he's usually staring at me and judging my dumb [censored].

I just lost a 10-2 simulated game. That shouldn't even be possible with the all 99 team that I have. SMFH.
To add more context to this, the game was against the White Sox, which consists of 1 Diamond player (an 85) on the whole roster. "Simulation"? I don't think so.

I'll start tomorrow on an off day, but a 10-2 loss isn't unusual. Losing 20-2, maybe.
BTW, 'Widow' is a dumb name. It makes you think of, well you know. Silly. Just call it the Tarantula or some spider type. -

It’s weird, but I have found this particular map to be very passive. Like many, I have noticed the past few maps have been extremely aggressive. But not this one.
I went directly to orioles and took that in turn one. Spent the next several turns just reinforcing and taking all empty spaces. No attacking strongholds or simming. Just moving to empty spaces.
After that, I have stayed on the outside and taken all the “legs”. First on the left, now working my way around in the right. Staying away from braves and Yankees (for example)
Literally, the other strongholds just sit there. Yeah, they have spread some. But not one team has “come after” me.
And I have all my taken spots with 1 in them. Again, they just sit there.
Haven’t played anything above vet. Soon, it will be all rookie. Weird. And relaxing. I like it. Reminds me of the maps last year.
I disagree about taking the outside and going in.
Like you, I started with the Os. Then made a large circle out of the open hexagons. Blocking the legs from spreading and expanding my circle while filling it.
Did not go immediately next to the stronghold until positioned to take it or could at least block them from leaving the stronghold. All leftover strong holds of the Thorax are taken bottom to top, followed by legs bottom to top.
The first was done on Veteran and the rest done on Rookie.
The only problem I had was the simulation winning a lot more than usual. A 2-20 battle should not be won by the 2.
2-3 hours for conquest and got my five bosses 36 hours after starting.

I thought it was a lot tamer on this map than it was for the East/Central/West maps.

Wow. I thought this map was very benign like the last ones. I go right for the strongholds and play on All Star most of the time. I took over a stronghold that had 10 reinforcements right next to it and they never came after me. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Yup it was the same for me, Cleveland was the biggest problem.

I only have the two NY teams to beat. I just went right after strongholds to minimize the amount of territories I will have to simulate through. I only had fans from the Yankees attack one of my territories.

I only have one stronghold left on the map. I don't feel like the CPU was aggressive at all. It seemed "normal" to me. The only thing that I ran into was the typical "simulated" bs results.
I'm pretty sure that after the Extreme Conquest, SDS "forgot" to reset the CPU aggressiveness for the next couple of Conquests but the last two have seemed "normal" to me.
