With batting moments it is somewhat reliant on skill, but not pitching moments, those are all RNG, there is no rhyme or reason to which balls the CPU hits. Is there any go to method? Maybe a specific combo that generally throws them off?

This right here is how I did the kerry wood extreme moment. I do not use pinpoint as I have never been able to get used to it. I use meter and have had success against the computer with it if you know how a certain pitchers delivery works you can get consistent strikes or no when the cpu is more likely to swing

High heat inside, breaking pitch low outside corner, change up low outside corner, repeat, cpu does not pick up patterns. But cpu hitting is pretty awful, so im pretty sure any pattern is a feasible option.

Pitching moments are so tedious and annoying and there's no margin for error. I hate them. I wish at least you weren't player locked as the pitcher because then at least I would feel more in control of what the defense is going to do.

My favorite thing is when the moment is "don't give up a hit" and the outfielder makes no effort to dive for balls.

I mean, outside of those like you said where it’s double digit k’s with no hits, you get a bloop and then have to reset (bottom of the order guys are highly prone to this!!)……and then the few strike out the side are frustrating at times….but otherwise, pitching moments are the easiest and least skilled facet. Like others noted, simple high heat low breaking pattern and you work through it.

Basically everything my esteemed colleague here says. High heat up and in. Low and away breaking balls. If you have Mr. Splittee, break that off below the zone.

The correct answer always. To be more specific 4 seam fastballs up and in. Make sure you keep them in the strike zone as sometimes the batter will just watch the first two go by. Then it is finish them off with a slider down and away. If going against opposite handedness I bust them up and in with fastballs and finish them off with a cutter up and in. The changeup down and away out of the zone can also work but I have had the CPU drive those in the gap on occasion if I dont get it low enough.

If you arent getting them to chase, throw a breaking ball or change in the zone, once you throw it for a strike they start to chase alot more out of the zone

LOL I've struck out cpu players constantly with the low, away, outside the zone sliders.

In fact, in conquest and mini seasons I can get 4 to 5 strike outs in an inning with the ball going behind the catch then purposely throwing to third base.

Why would you do this? Just personal milestone to get the “extra” K’s? So far I have only once gotten 4 k’s in an inning, funny oddity but by no means something I wanted/tried to do

I do it when there's a strike out mission in the program or in mini seasons. It gets done quicker that way.

Fastballs up and in a sliders down and away is the best way to do it. Can sub in cutter/curve/change if no slider. Don't throw sinkers vs the CPU

I’ve found pitching moments are generally pretty easy. Just locate pitches, and mix it up.

When the cpu decides it’s going to mess up your perfect game or whatever, there really isn’t anything you can do.

I do use the Slider a lot. I'm just saying that's the one pitch the CPU homers off me the most if I hang one or two. It's as if they know you pressed Slider!
