HRD Soto to the bench?
-
Feels weird even asking it as my lineup has been tailored around Soto in the cleanup spot just ahead of Cutch. I feel like im cheating on Juan just looking at other guys, but these LOTF cards are no joke. Hank tops the list but Dawson and Rickey bring alot to the table. If I need a lefty Greene and Finley can rake. I also totally forgot about Clemente and I've had Mookie for only three days. Obviously no one touches Soto with the power and active quirks but if you are looking at all the attribute across the board and the big 5 of contact, power, vision, speed and defense he looks replaceable. Who do you guys see as your 3 OF starters? I'm stick with Cutch and adding Hank. Not sure for the 3rd spot. I'm thinking Rickey at leadoff followed by Jimmy.

Cutch, Hank and I don't even know tbh, probably a lefty so Shawn Green or Finley can help balance my lineup

I actually won’t start Juan Soto’s card do to lack of defense and speed. I know some say it doesn’t matter in the corner this year, but I trust Acuna more than Soto out there. Just for HRD example. Soto has a very good swing and those quirks, I really want to be able to start him, but I guess it is just me.

Please explain 'active' quirks.
If I'm not .is take and earlier post was talking about the new LOTF cards, pre-release, and I could've swore someone said that Legends don't get quirks. But these cards have quirks listed.

Talk to him. Tell him how you feel. Don’t throw away what you two have built together.
Look, it’s completely natural to notice other outfielders when they sashay along with their 125 contact and their diamond defense. But that’s the only diamond they have. The diamond that really matters? It’s the one you put in Juan soto’s finger. Remember that.
But ain’t nothin wrong with putting Rickey Henderson in your one-hole just to see how it feels.

Every card has quirks. Some are passive like speedster, this just means your guy has high enough ratings to steal bases. All cards have these passive quirks. Some cards have active quirks (LS and Monthly Awards and this year they were on the FOTF, AS and HRD cards). These directly effect game play. Like dead red, breaking ball hitter, first pitch hitter, day or night player, home or away player. So a guy with dead red gets a Stat boost when he hits a fastball. Some swear by the active quirks others think they don't do much. I definitely see a gameplay difference, now how much boosts they give is debatable. Some players might have one or two active quirks but there are a few guys with several, Soto, Devers, Freeman, Trout, just to name a few.

The new Clemente has been so good for me. I feel like I need to keep him in my lineup somehow even though we have so many good cards.

Don't get me wrong, we had some issues in the past. But he always gives me that look, you know the one where the pitcher throws him too many pitches outside the zone and he leans into me and stares at me with those big brown eyes, and I come running back. Sure he can't throw, catch or run but it's just something about him crushing the ball into the stands for a 3 run shot that just tugs at my heart strings. I might give Ricky a shot but I'm scared, what if it doesn't work out and I have to find another guy? I guess sometimes it's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. Thanks for talking me through this hard time.

Not all quirks are active quirks. Those quirks on cards like MS or Award cards just reflect what the players attributes are. Active quirks actually make a player better in certain situations. Ones like Day Player, The first pitch one, the breaking ball one, etc. these all make a difference above the attributes. So if a card has the First Pitch Hitter quirk, he will get a boost on the first pitch of an at bat. Quirks like bomber just mean the card has power attributes above a certain point, so it’s not an active quirk.
I hope that helps. -
